For what it's worth, "professional songwriters" wrote "the Flame" to give the band a #1 hit. Which makes sense, since they had just released One of the Worst Albums Ever.

Rockford
Special One was, well, special (in a bad way), but Rockford was actually a decent album. Maybe tied with their 1997 self-titled as 'best Cheap Trick album since Dream Police.' There were some really solid songs on there.
