So it turns out to be a generic action movie. Shame as I thought it was going to be more with a cast that includes Penn, Bardem and bloody Mark Rylance (one of the most celebrated stage actors of the last decade). What a waste.

Having played this game I can attest that there is no actual story to speak of.
Black goo yadayada monsters yadayada etc.
It didn't even have a unique artstyle, so not entirely sure what they think they're adapting that worth keeping. Also pretty sure it didn't do great, so it's not like there's a million Drowning…
Travis are just so nice, which may sound like a criticism but it genuinely isn't. The least pretentious, heart on your sleeve band you could ask for. What ACDC are to rock, Travis are to late 90s British Indie music. You just can't criticise them.
Ahh the Pigman's Caine Hackman thesis.
De Niro's mumbling mispronunciation of Hereford always made me laugh. Hairfur, Heirfeh. IT'S HE-RE-FORD
and dubstep.
Late 90s trailer cuts are more dated than the movies they are trying to promote.
They do now, but the Oxford concert that Marah is talking about was the first time in years. I was there too, and had seen them twice before, it was big deal if you were a fan. I've seen them two times since and they played it once. I guess the shock has gone, but it was strange to hear a song everyone had given up…
Personally I'm all for binge watching. I gave up on Lost after it's third season. If I knew how long it was going to go on for (and how disappointed people were with it by the end) I would have stopped sooner. US TV suffers from the problem where hit shows have to be extended over multiple seasons, sometime beyond…
If you like HDTGM? you will love FILMSACK - it's been going a few years now and while not every episode is amazing the majority are. Listen to Commando, Star Crash and Robocop episodes
Josh - my favourite kids misinterpreted name for a band was my two and half year old niece saying Washing Machine instead of Florence and the Machine.
Going to point out once more the lack of Heat on the lists, and the Insider. This is a crime. Heat is on numerous best of lists, it changed how people shoot action scenes, and is an influence to many directors (most famously Christopher Nolan).

I can't believe no Heat. How can Carlito's Way and Eyes Wide Shut be on the list.

Carlito's Way: "De Palma delivers one of his least ostentatious, most accessible films" - LEAST OSTENTATIOUS! Have you seen that movie? It so doesn't deserve to be on this list. Slow-mo Hallmark card scenes of Al and his girl on the beach, Sean Penn delivering a performance as subtle as his work on I Am Sam, and one…

PCU has strangely memorable and usable quotes - despite only seeing once nearly 15 years ago I still say "Hey that weazel snagged the bee" whenever I throw a frisbee, and my brother and I still use "GO TO SLEEP! IT'S TIME TO GO TO SLEEP!"

Oh blow it out your arse Morrissey.
