Saw the same tour and I agree! Loved how varied the setlist was, pulling from every phase of his career. Lost my shit when he did "If the Brakeman Turns My Way."

Oh nice, I thought I was the only one who felt like Upside Down Mountain was really overlooked. There are some absolute gems on there.

To echo what others have said, I'm Wide Awake It's Morning is probably the best entry point. Just a solid 45-minute indie folk album with great lyrics very evocative of 2005.

I came here to downvote idiots trading on irrelevant and inaccurate memes and to upvote people telling them to shut up and fuck off, and I am leaving satisfied.

I dunno, I was kind of ironically looking forward to this but at some point it turned genuine. Shouldn't have played with fire. But I'm down for a non-superhero cheesy action movie with a good cast.

I just watched this and while it was extremely well done, I almost wish I hadn't. Gut-wrenching beyond all description. Fuck humanity.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the humor but that series of letters from the cruise ship especially was laugh-out-loud hilarious.

I just finished Imagine Me Gone and it was absolutely fantastic. The main character is basically me but maybe 25% more mentally ill and I strongly related to all the family dynamics, but would have loved it even without that extra punch of relatability.

I saw Hop Along open for Built to Spill a couple weeks ago. They were fantastic. Okkervil River is here Sunday but I'm leaning towards skipping it because I'm broke as hell and can't get off the Monday after. Love the new album though.

Bright Eyes - Haile Selassie
R.E.M. - Sing for the Submarine
St. Vincent - Champagne Year
Blur - Thought I Was A Spaceman
Titus Andronicus - Titus Andronicus

I don't get the timestamp chicanery either. This was absolutely not up at 12 PM CST/1 PM EST. I was actively looking for it.

I could listen to him yell "GREAT-GRANDMA! YOU'VE GOT SHIT!" all day.

I haven't cared a ton for their last couple albums but they are still amazing live. "Impossible Germany," "Spiders," etc. still bring the house down.

Well the important thing is that you still managed to project a smug sense of superiority to strangers on the internet.

Why would you punch anything that pretty

My favorite NSFW cover is Handsome Furs' Sound Kapital. Fully nude woman in front of an industrial backdrop. Perfectly matches the music too, industrial/synth-driven rock strongly influenced by the band's touring in Asia and Eastern Europe. All-around masterpiece.

Ooh, I have some good ones: the Rohan and Gondor themes from LOTR. Chills every time at that fiddle.
