They actually only played 2 songs from the new album ("The Shade" and "Cascades"), which was surprising. Both were highlights though.

I just got back from seeing Metric play a local music festival in the shadow of a defunct steel mill on the first crisp, cool night of the year. Pretty fucking great. Always liked their albums but this was my first time seeing them live and they were fantastic, intense, and loud as hell. I forgot my earplugs actually…
Fuuck, that's my nightmare scenario. Good luck.
Got a sixpack of some new Deschutes brew, Hopzeit Autumn IPA. Very tasty.
I watched Fleabag on Amazon over the weekend. It was fantastic.
Happy birthday!
The Humorless Ladies of Border Control: Touring the Punk Underground from Belgrade to Ulaanbaatar by Franz Nicolay. Always been interested in that part of the world and also the life of a touring musician so I'm enjoying it, but it also has some deeper dives into dryly-written history than I was expecting.
Wolf Parade - Cloud Shadow on the Mountain
Death Cab for Cutie - The New Year
Bright Eyes - If Winter Ends
TV on the Radio - Red Dress
St. Vincent - Prince Johnny
Yeah, as cringe-inducing as "Radio Song" can be, I love the strings and the "world is collapsing" parts enough that I can't even write that off.
Ha, good point. Definitely check out the Operators album. It's no Sound Kapital but good, solid Boeckner.
I think he confirmed he did not.
And the rationalization for it was that he didn't even have time to listen to Wolf Parade's catalogue? With their intimidating 3 albums?
Spoon are a really weird case for me. I never really have the urge to listen to them, but whenever I get around to it I'm reminded they're incredible and one of my favorite bands.
I watched that movie and I didn't see her nude. It sucked too.`
Man you just inspired me to watch that scene, it's still as fucked up as ever. Cy was a psycho.
His off-camera yell of "Shut. Up." to Ron is one of my favorite things that happened on that show.
I liked her recent-ish Netflix special a lot, but offstage I don't find her too amusing.
Yes. It's very good and this episode hews pretty closely to it for the first 75% of it so it will make it even funnier.
Yeah, she said on Twitter neither her or the primary guy could do it so it just got passed up. Coverage will resume next week.
