About two thirds of the way through Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. It's fantastic. It took the Netflix series to get me to read it, so looking forward to that now.
Talking Heads - Making Flippy Floppy
The Cure - Open
M83 - Echoes of Mine
FFS - Call Girl
Desaparecidos - Te Amo Camila Vallejo
My ears were ringing for 3 or 4 days after I saw Titus in a small basement club a couple months back. Incredible show, but recommend earplugs.
Mine's still going strong but I live in constant anxiety about it. I really don't know what I'm going to do when it dies.
There's a local fest with Chvrches and Metric headlining later this month, and then Hop Along is opening for Built to Spill the week after, but I don't have a ticket yet because I'm broke.
Totally. "Optimistic," "Knives Out," "There There," "Weird Fishes," etc. All ruined by batshit crazy synths.
I enjoyed how going back to the regular format seemed to raise their spirits. Pleased with the Platinum Plate Club designation for Cheesecake Factory, too. That's really the chain restaurant to end all chain restaurants.
That guest was a champ. I almost felt bad for her at the beginning when it became clear what she was about to be subjected to, but she seemed to enjoy it as much as anyone else.
I did this elsewhere in 2014. Mine's even more Hollywood.
Can't imagine a more disturbing ending than the revelation that Weiss vapes.
Fuck off
Or a Titus Andronicus one.
That's awesome! Enjoy.
I just started Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. I've read a ton her work but missed this one, enjoying it so far though the lack of quotation marks for dialogue has me retracing my steps at times.
Arcade Fire - Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice)
Modest Mouse - Truckers Atlas
The Good Life - Lovers Need Lawyers
Jimmy Eat World - Futures
The National - Thirsty
Well I think there's quite a few
Thanks, I will try this!
"This is what I sound like when I'm horny: 'Ohhhhhh nooooooooo.'"
I watched Gods of Egypt for HDTGM last week. Good god, what a piece of shit, and almost painful to look at. Just wall to wall orange, red, and black CGI. And shitty CGI to boot. Enjoyed Jason's assumptions that it was both an entirely different movie and that it had come out years ago.
