Wouldn't it look pretty much exactly like Abed's evil twin?

The music doesn't bother me. But then, I've just come from recapping NewsRadio, so the more sitcommy elements don't feel quite so out of place. The writing is sophisticated, so are many of the performances, and the format is still catching up — that's the way I think of it.

I struggled with this too. He's a very specific kind of jerk, though, an entitled oversexualized and therefore misogynist jerk. He's not a total failure as a human being; he introduces himself to Jeremy in quite a friendly fashion. I'm not being facetious; I think that's important that he can be charming and normal…

We're going to have to hash this over as the series goes on, but I will agree that whenever Dana goes full-ditz is bugs the heck out of me. These two episodes are really good ones for the character; she makes the tough calls and reverses herself and everyone gives her room to do so and backs her up knowing how hard…

See, the duo is based on Dan Patrick/Keith Olbermann, but I don't think the characters' personalities have anything to do with their supposed models. It's just the idea of a wisecracking sports anchor team, really, rather than the people.

I don't think he is; the promos have emphasized the backstage stuff which is all collaborative and argumentative. The show just happens to be one guy. That's an interesting genre to be explored, I think.

I think Sorkin does this consistently in most of his work, though, doesn't he? He never just gives you one side of the issue through the character we're supposed to agree with; we may know where his heart is, but he's one of the best at allowing a devil's advocate character to be reasonable and compelling and not a…

I think you're right, and Casey walks right into his trap because he cannot let Gordon have the last word on anything.

I like Natalie's response to Dana asserting "I have a terrific sense of humor! I know lots and lots of jokes!" She answers brightly: "People say that about you!"

That "fifty dollars" just comes from such an angry, flailing place, and is such a great way to demean the value of Patrick's life, though. It's the best.
