It didn't cross my mind that that was rape until I read these reviews. It read to me as kinky so-bad-it's-good sex.

Was I the only one who didn't see that as an unambiguous rape? Honestly, I saw it as both of them getting off on the wrongness of it.

I agree.  There is no way that guy isn't going through with that threesome.  But really, it felt like the only false step in an otherwise surprisingly excellent movie.

Hemingway did the twitter-length story first and best: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

I read both Snow Crash and this book, and found them about equally poorly-written.  Though I should say I enjoyed both—-I don't read pulpy sci-fi for the lyricism.
