Do yourself a favor and watch all of SR. I saw it too young (9?), and cried cried at the end. I've thought about it often since.

I feel almost exactly the way you do. Interesting premise (which I've read before, btw, so not 100% original: cf The Many Colored Land) but the "characters" were tropes and not real people. I wish that shows would stop being pitched as having "elements" and instead have characters.
And another thing—so what? So what if one guy is turned, how much damage can one guy do if he was full on Koran thumping Al Queda? A sniper, so what. He already had access to the VP, maybe later he gets access to the POTUS. Could he Guy Fawkes the congress? Wouldn't that make him more hero than less? j/k. But I…
Oh, and of course Maj Winters isn't turned. Speaking of spoilers, this show will only hold up if you already know and it doesn't matter cause it has other things to say.
Morena Baccarin?
@FX PRESIDENT:
Just when I wondered if this was the real ZMF, he posts authentic ZMF that leaves no doubt.

We will have a hint of that in the season finale, even.
You forgot maggie. And Dale Dye, although he hasn't been used much.
I found it EXTREMELY CONVENIENT that the aliens chose a caliber for their super bullets that just happens to work in our own guns. The humans don't even have to steal mech guns to use against them?
I think the show has a "one blonde per ep" quota. Blonde girlfriend was enough to meet the quota, so hottie blond was written out.
What, you mean like Caprica? This show is a step down from Caprica, imo. Especially in terms of world building and creative characters.
rice pudding
My favorite moment this show: Hank says he "has no appetite". Then, when the lab book and case is presented to him, he starts eating it. Without commentary of his returning appetite by either of the characters.
It's a bad sign when a review for a movie has only drawn one comment in 40 minutes.
If you think making fun of Army Wives causes trouble, try making fun of "The L Word". Or even just watching either, without permission.
This is a good point. I was extremely leery of the show at first too, based on the title. I expected pandering bs and a buch of misogynistic jokes, like a long form Hangover.
