That art is really gorgeous.  I've never read 100% or Heavy Liquid, because I don't always trust writer/artists and the art style didn't immediately appeal to me; the adds for both in 1990s Vertigo comics made it seem pretty murky.  That said, this art looks vibrant and detailed in the best way, something like Sean

They actually had cameos in 8MM together.

The Big Red No and Hanks would have created a whole new civilization on that island, and because The Big Red No is a gifted biologist and geneticist, they would even have had children.  It would have been a completely different kind of movie, as you say.

I agree with your basic point, but in the way of these things, Cage totally would have deserved a best actor statue for Raising Arizona.

You're going to have to settle for a Golden Globe.

Whoa!  I thought we all agreed never to talk about that AV Club Christmas party again.

There was some dire fucking acting in that movie, and they could have used more of him on screen.

I'm just glad she was able to bury the hatchet with Kanye so she could focus on this positive development.

You got to have that "Red Shoe Diaries" saxophone in there, too.

Congratulations, @avclub-d76fbe3f9c1f23538ea8f8f022a45651:disqus , you grossed out a penis.

I'm going to write a protest letter on this one.

Dear Jacqueline…

This will give him time to launch his political career and become president by the time we get to the world of Species II.

That's what she said.  (She was from Austria.)

I'm the only true non-lesbian.  All you other non-lesbians are just imitating.

I guess, (and this is only my opinion; as I say below, obviously many people really do think West is a genius) the difference is that I don't find him exceptional at any one thing the way Astaire was at dancing.  I also find his voice somewhat uninteresting as an instrument, whereas hip hop practitioners I hold in

Eminem also has genuine hip-hop credibility in ways that Ice never did.  He's not a particular favorite of mine, but there's a world of difference between "Lose Yourself" and "Stop That Train".

I agree with this 100%. I may not think he's actually a genius, but a lot of people do, and yet he still has to deal with cut-down-the-tall-poppy shit that other broadly-proclaimed geniuses don't have to, as you say, because they're white dudes.

I agree that it's not the greatest episode, but I like the way it suggests the Federation, for all that it's a good society, still has some flaws and is maybe less tolerant of oddballs than, say, present-day Austin.  I think it's significant that all four characters are human; it's very much an earth thing, this

I always figured the Grand Nagus was the Ferengi equivalent of the Federal Reserve chairman, not the Klingon Emperor of the President of the Federation Council.

No matter what happens with this movie or in your life, man, you will always have been held on stage by four dudes in ninja turtle costumes.  No one can ever take that away from you.
