Well, I think it's awesome! Your wife is lucky to have a good tv partner.

Yes, Outlander has romance in it, but it's not only romance. I think people have the same kind of reaction to sci-fi books too, plenty of people seem to think they're not capable of being 'real' or serious fiction because they have some sci-fi element, and consider any crappy novel to be superior if it contains no…
I think what's different is that Outlander is emotionally driven, and as an emotion, romance is one of the ones explored. But it's not driven by the romance, rather the romance comes as a result of the emotional nature of the story-telling.
I love how in the comments section it's clear young, clean-shaven Jamie isn't the only one women find attractive. Middle-aged and bearded with probably no six-pack can also be damn hot, are you listening hollywood? BRING ME THE BEARDS AND THE KILTS AND THE A+ PERSONALITIES THANK YOU.
Things like this are why I like being single, I lose my patience soooo badly when people do things like that. Just let me watch my freaking show in peace!
I am embarrassed to say, that even though I get so mad at people who call this a chick show because I think it's insulting, I still thought you were a woman based on how passionate your comments were. Even after reading your kilt comment, and seeing your username, it still didn't sink in. Huh, she wants to wear a…
Huh. I'd consider that haggis about as much as I'd consider tofurkey to be turkey. But I guess people can call stuff whatever they like.
That was pretty great, and as much as I love Claire, I liked seeing some of the scenes of what the boys get up to when they're by themselves.
Av club, you teach me the most amazing things! Thank you, I am sure I will be using this at some point in my life.
I think I've said it a couple times now, but Graham MacTavish does amazing. Whether you like Dougal, or want to smack him, or both, MacTavish turns in fantastic acting. He has a very….'not modern' feeling to his portrayal I guess, without going overboard into stereotype.
I'm pro-beard, I'm just also pro-showering, and I've noticed the show takes pains to be fairly realistic in regards to what the men at least might have looked like back then. They often have a 'haven't bathed in a few days' styling to them.
That is a great point, I didn't even think of that. Jamie is totally the bride!
I love Claire but I really liked those scenes too.
Actually, I find that how the tits are presented changes things for me. There's a lot of stuff that's supposed to be titillating to men that doesn't appeal to me for reasons I can't always put my finger on, whereas stuff that seems to at least give a nod to female viewers more frequently does better for me (like Lost…
I couldn't do it without getting absolutely shitfaced, which I guess in this case would be appropriately in character.
Murtagh is about one shower away from being man candy to me. I love him.
AH HA HA HA HA so close but I think it's actually quinoa and nuts wrapped seaweed. But I like the way you think, it's practical.
Those are kind of my feelings on Dougal. He can be sexy but then not sexy and make me feel bad for the previous sexy-thinking, but then veer back into sexy and now goddamnit being creepy again. I don't know what to think.
It's interesting to read these comments. For me, this was the slowest episode of Outlander and not one of my favorites, BUT I am not going to complain about that because it is obvious so many people liked it very much, and it seems HIGH time women got some quality female oriented sexy-time television. I came to…
Well, but not purely out of selfishness. His agenda includes what he thinks is best for his people, all of them. He will pick the well-being of the group over the individual. I think the expression on his face showed he cared about Claire and was worried about her, but if she proved false he would do what he had to do…
