The first season was ghastly, and that was sad because the initial ratings showed how much people wanted a post-apocalyptic low tech killing people with swords show.

However it happened, there are moments where his lines fit him like a glove. It's hard to imagine another actor being able to channel Crowley like Sheppard, which I think is why we'll never see him in another meat suit except very briefly to do things.
I hope Karma kicks that person's ass.
Yeah…I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, yay for Supernatural, but on the other hand, I feel bad Revolution's ratings are still tanking because they worked so hard to turn that show around! And I thought they've been doing it! It saddens me the rest of the world outside AV club apparently doesn't agree.
That's true, and I think it's part of the Dean = extrovert, Sam = introvert thing. Dean doesn't know what to do with himself if he's by himself, unless it's drinking and researching obsessively or killing things. Sam can still be Sam when he's by himself.
Yeah, like they could try to revamp the Men of Letters organization but this time add hunting as well as observing.
I would MUCH prefer that to a bunch of blandly good looking early twenties mediocre actors.
I dunno, I will probably keep watching it? With the right writing there is all kinds of good stuff the show could do, it really depends on that and whether or not the actors are getting tired. The universe is so rich, there is a ton of stuff they could do instead of going back to the same things, over and over. They…
That is probably it. Curse my swiss cheese brain.
No, in season 1 he didn't seem to have a problem. I can't remember exactly if anything stepped it up, I recall it being gradual, and then after Purgatory he stopped, but then he started back up again at some point. Maybe someone with better memory has a Dean's Drinking timeline in their head?
I guess that was why Dean thought he could sell him the idea that Crowley would kill him? At best the guy could exorcise him. Dean's the kind of dude who would jump into something without a solid plan, so he probably didn't think beyond 'this guy is going to try go after Crowley' and then he didn't think too hard…
It makes sense. It makes it authentic. It's that thing that makes the difference between taking a guy, letting him grow some stubble and putting him in scruffy clothes to denote that he is world-weary and tough but somewhat broken and taking a guy who can be those things and then having the stubble and wardrobe fit…
They make such a great pair. They both have great voices too, there is something so hilarious to me about how Crowley manages to seem tough guy sleazy despite his effeminate phrasing, for lack of a better way to describe his speech patterns, and use of innuendo to get under people's skin. Plus, both of them are…
Yeah, that was the closest it came. Like it was a quiet acknowledgement that Sam knew…he just wasn't going to intervention him, I guess because he thought it would be useless, and maybe because he thought it would be like John, only dysfunctionally drunk for periods of time and then he might get better. This time…
I like what a good job the show has done with subtly yet clearly depicting the fact that over the years Dean has developed a problem with alcohol without going over the top about it. It's never even been the focus of an episode exactly, that I recall, it's just a character development that's been slowly creeping along…
I'm having that moment right now where I'm trying to remember if I've seen that or not and if that's why I remember her being in something I associated with demons. I don't know how I'm going to tell when I start getting senile if I'm like this now.
Ah, thanks!
Not only that but I feel like I've seen her before in Supernatural, playing someone else. I could be super wrong but I also have that tip-of-the-brain feeling that I'm trying to remember where else I've seen her because I know I have but I can't remember. Edit: I see I am crazy. I don't know why I thought I'd seen her…
I could have easily spent an hour just watching them bantering back and forth. Those two have the most excellent expressive faces and watching them have such a prolonged express-off without going over the top was a treat to watch. They play off each other well but I do miss Crowley + Cas, which I think is an…
I liked it because the show usually shows Sam as being physically weaker than Dean (or at least, not being as good in a physical fight) despite his giant moose-like size, which you would think would lend itself well to basically sitting on your opponents, but I digress. Anyway, this showed Sam using his brain to win…
