I think Blink was also the perfect introduction of a new monster. Unfortunately, it did such a good job of introducing the Weeping Angels that I don't think an Angels episode since then has lived up to the type of tension surrounding them created in the first episode. To be sure, the two parter with 11, Amy, River,

In all fairness, people in early sobriety are usually pretty messed up in the head. But, Laurel is usually just awful.

Almost as good as the intersection of O'Neil and Adams.

Yeah, this was her first performance as the Huntress where she wasn't so wooden. Maybe a small thing, but I noticed her Aussie accent slipping out more tonight. I also noticed every time Alex Kingston has been on she's been kind of stiff. I wonder how much of it is the two actresses focusing so hard on doing an

Nope. The pilots were ready to let him fly the plane though.

My wife is a flight attendant. The two nicest celebrities she's had on a flight were Ian McShane and Buzz Aldrin. Apparently the most awful one was Dr. Laura.

JOB SEARCH THREAD
I had an interview yesterday for a six month grant position at my current school yesterday and I'm flying out to California tomorrow for an interview on Friday. While there, I'll be doing a phone interview for another school. Hopefully this will be my last semester working as an adjunct professor.

All I know is if they're not having a go at a bird, they're having a row with a wanker.

One of them is a rockstar? I mean, Chris Martin is in a band, but rockstar? I suppose…

Maybe we can finally get Do Shut Up. I think the US is overdue for a show about a hard-drinking-yet-loving family of soccer hooligans.

I can't remember how many times I saw Buck-O-Nine in 92-95 or so. A lot of that was being friends with Scott. Now I'm nostalgic for the old Soma in downtown San Diego. Of course they tore it down and put up a children's museum.

This. I've never liked her music either, and all the other stuff aside, I think her accolades as a musician are undeserved.

I haven't seen too many of her episodes, but the audio dramas do a better job of playing up her skills as a computer programming expert.

Um, Spoilers?

True. About the closest they got to that was Shakespeare calling her things like an "Ethiope," but that was mostly for comedic effect with him digging himself into a hole.

I agree. Honestly, the best part of it is they never draw attention to it. It's funny how RTD got us so used to it that when we saw Martha and Mickey paired off, it felt so odd.

Maybe. I actually do like Evelyn as a companion, but I think with her and the Mel stories, the Doctor tends to be a bit more cuddly. Obviously, the two Frobisher ones are more humorous, but with the Peri ones, they capture the latter feel of them getting along with him still being more arrogant and bombastic.

I think part of it is that RTD really wanted to show as progressive of a society as possible. Interracial relationships were the norm for him - Rose and Mickey, Martha's dad and his wife, Donna's fiance and then her husband, the cat guy and his human wife, etc.

My son loves to rewatch any number of episodes on Netflix, especially Angel episodes or Dalek ones, but he never seems to rewatch these two.

It's odd. The classic series seemed to almost ignore the existence of humans of color until 7 (the guy running the cafe in "Remembrance of the Daleks" who discussed slavery, the African UNIT general in "Battlefield), but the new series tends to treat various points in Earth history as a multiracial utopia.
