[snores] You might just as well say… that "I breathe when I sleep" is the same thing as "I sleep when I breathe"!' [snores]

The Big Lebowski does fall apart at the end, when it attempts to actually make The Dude in Marlowe.  It's the nature of the Coen movies, generally (Raising Arizona's final wacky chase scene is incredibly tiresome the third time through, though the end redeems it).
Fun, fun film anyway, though.

Alpha-male in modern America simply means being a bullying asshole emitting whatever phermones make lesser assholes think your grand, as Smithers thinks of Mr. Burns or Dubya thinks of Cheney.

And "Republicans" want EVERYONE (that's "conservative" - the politically-correct word for 'stupid' - and white) to carry concealed weapons, and unconcealed weapons, too, ALL the time!

The Wizard of Oz and Jason & the Argonauts as a kid (and Godzilla), and Yojimbo and Seven Samurai at age 12.

I grew up watching these, seeing Sinbad in an actual movie theater when it came out - 'cos I'm pretty old now.

Saw it.  Entertaining.  Ended.

I think it was a .22, so Pete wouldn't be able, without luck, to kill himself with it, but it's big enough for him to, accidentally, blow off both of his testicles.

Oh, and no offense to Dahl, but I didn't bump into him until much later!

Alice in Wonderland and The Hobbit, but I'll also never stop loving books I can read to kids, esp. Goodnight Moon, Where the Wild Things Are and Mike Mulligan (Thanks, Cap'n!).

And how'd YOU latch on to one of my old (though pretty obvious) old AVC handles? Wild.

She gets an odd aside in Murakami's "Norwegian Wood" as the Hollywood star Hatsumi's uncle brags about having met.  That led me to check her out, and I was surprised that she was such a big star of the day (especially given my solid knowledge of old musicals), yet so unknown today.

Some amazing acting in that.  A fine Robert Morse, Steiger astounding, Winters showing he could act as well as most anybody, great small roles everywhere!

Heaven for climate, hell for society, eh?

Thanks, big guy!

"Reality" TV - no.

Yes.

Not as bad as it should have been, to add my faint praise.

It IS a great baseball film, despite Costner's ridiculous speech, but Cooper as Lou Gehrig and "Damn Yankees" are better.

I, for one, would like Weiner to put his considerable talents to doing a "reimagining" of a show that has been laughed at since its debut: 'Gilligan's Island'.
