Every episode was a poignant self-metaphor for life.
Every episode was a poignant self-metaphor for life.
It would be insanely expensive and time-consuming. The special effects and stuntwork alone would make it impossible to make 10-13 episodes per year that don't look laughably bad and SyFy Channel-esque.
Strike three, Marge! Stop the Planet of the Apes, I Want to Get Off! was a stage musical, not a film. If you have any integrity at all, you will give those 10 bar dollars to an alcoholic in need.
I'm surprised they haven't done it already with the whole cinematic universe craze. From what I understand, the Broccolis (heh) have an iron grip on the franchise and they're very…particular.
They can have their cake and eat it too: go with a "MI6 cinematic universe." We already know there are other "00" agents on missions (like Sean Bean as 006 in Goldeneye), so why not make movies about them?
Good compromise between Craig and Brosnan.
I think we need to go back a little further and channel delightfully cheesy, cheery action-adventure movies like these instead:
"Sonic sez you should eat more fiber!"
I never had a chili dog until I saw the Sonic The Hedgehog animated series with Jaleel White. The random character quirk they gave Sonic was that he loved chili dogs, even asking for payment in chili dogs on at least one occasion.
This was arguably the best and most ridiculous trend ever. One reason I love the holidays is that it's the only time jazz(y) music of any kind is still played on mainstream radio.
Margot Robbie & Jessica Chastain in a Harley & Ivy movie. It's so simple and fun and can't miss that WB will find a way to make it complicated, oppressive and a misfire.
CBS scoured the earth to find the least Asian-looking Asian guy possible for Jackie Chan's role. I'm pretty sure that's a white teenager with CGI touch-ups.
2001: A Space Odyssey.
I agree that L'enfant is the best distillation of the Dardennes' voice/gifts. In terms of Cannes, it's a tough call between this, Caché and A History of Violence, but I'll pick it over those films (and Le fils) because of how straightforward its power is.
Having a minority lead of some kind isn't "forced diversity" any more than a straight white male lead is "forced bigotry."
Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, Beauty & The Beast, and Sleeping Beauty all have overt sexual themes.
Oh yeah…I like this idea.
The closest we'll get:

The prologue for Last Crusade was fantastic. I could have watched River Phoenix as Indy for another 100 minutes.
Lawrence Kasdan is writing the script with "help" from his son (i.e. Kasdan is writing the script while getting his son a major film credit), so I'm on board.
