Is it purposeful story writing or a "fix-up" that the last two seasons started with Jimmy re-entering the conversation that the previous season's cliffhanger ended on to fundamentally alter the impact of that cliffhanger?

Excellent analysis. I agree with every point…there are also parts of 50 first dates that did not make me mad.

Really enjoyed this article. Thank you.

"Full Riot gear"? Not really. It actually looks like they're trying to avoid showing the cops even have guns. And, it appears that they also are trying to make them look "vaguely ethnic" for some reason.

I just want to buy the record or maybe download it from iTunes. Why won't Kanye respect the needs of old white guys who are afraid of new technology? Is that not his core demographic?

I don't usually pick on this show, but I thought this was messy and had a lot of unearned emotional scenes. The Sasha flashback stuff was tedious and I felt like that's what dragged it long. Maggie's speech at the end redeemed the emotional impact a little

I feel like NBC didn't quite promote this right - the promos seemed more goofy/over-the-top, like they were trying to attract third rock from the sun viewers I nearly didn't DVR this and then thought, "well, whatever." I ended up really liking it and it's right in my wheelhouse. I'd put it as number two for new

Yep. He's like Joe McCarthy in that Joe never gave a crap about communists, it was just the way he got traction. Beck seems like a terrible human being, even if he's right in this instance.

Alex Tourk should have kept a close eye on Gavin Newsom.

Rogue Demon Hunter! I sometimes mentally give him a lot more screen time in Buffy because he was so good (best thing) on Angel, but I guess he was only in a handful of episodes. I loved how he was redeemed from being such an underachiever…but man, that character endured a lot.

You nailed it. I've been trying for years to articulate why it looked so bad, but you are exactly right. It's an amorphous blob clearing the way…like scrubbing bubbles. Thank you!

Whatever they were, I didn't feel the sense of boring invincibility that I got from the movie.

For me, the worst part of the trilogy was how they handled the Dunharrow at the end of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. They just come in, sweep through like a wave and kill all the bad guys. It was a terrible deus ex machina and reduced the stakes of the earlier battle. And it looked bad.

I think it's the best part of all of the three films

I agree; that scene was poorly handled on the show.

I'm happy to see this. When the scene came out and people were freaking out and criticizing the show/scene, my argument was 1) Just because you don't see rape on tv, doesn't mean its not happening 2) that it was not a celebration of rape, it was a condemnation 3) the fact that the director chose to focus on Theon

I get creating fake memes and seeing if Normies follow them, but I'm either super confused by the Bane thing or I'm really close to understanding this. Is there layer upon layer of irony in that they're comparing themselves to the CIA agent who is weak and beaten but that by making the comment, they're secretly

I'm glad that New Haven style pizza is spreading, though. Found this place in San Diego and was delighted how shamelessly they flattered (by imitation) the Bar (restaurant in New Haven) format and pizza: http://www.barbasic.com. I feel like the trend is spreading elsewhere as well.

I will need to check them out!

This is correct. I think the article is a little misleading about the clam pizza. It is a unique offering and it is a popular order, but it is a sub-set of New Haven pizza, not the full set of New Haven pizza, which is more about the heat, the crust and the economic application of cheese and sauce. For example, a
