Erroneous.

Erroneous.

I know it's the first installment of a new feature, and you shouldn't be locked into an early-'90s-Nickelodeon thing, but the Adventures of Pete and Pete is probably the best thing designed for kids since Bugs Bunny. Smart, absurd, and with all kinds of nerdy rock cameos — how has the AV Club gone this long

That last paragraph.
I'm a nihilist, and I think Korn and Limp Bizkit are terrible, terrible bands. I was born in '86, too. Just saying, we're not all like that.

rock geek fact-checking
The first complete song is actually "Muskie Moon" - "Valley Farm Song" is track three. And "Wilderness" is a six-minute song; there's just a bonus track at the end.

Also I just read that one thread, and that was unnecessarily harsh, even for the internet. I like Nathan Rabin. This is a good column and his memoir was excellent. "My Year of Flops" is among the greatest things ever to have been. So, godspeed, Rabin.

Robbie Fulks is the shit. I'm really curious to hear your impressions on his two unexpected excursions into art-rock territory. Or will you just be sticking to his straight country stuff? (admittedly, there's a lot of overlap, especially on "Let's Kill Saturday Night")

Regarding the SIM-card-eating, I loved that Jack's reaction was, "Oh, you dumb bastard, you swallowed it." The almost-but-not-quite-pity present in the phrase "you dumb bastard" was priceless.

Absolutely. Only thing I could think of in all of their scenes.

John Bellairs, anyone?
Perhaps a trifle obscure, but he wrote a book called "The House with a Clock in its Walls" that I never, ever get tired of. There was a whole series, though some of them were kind of formulaic, but the original was great.

Viggy, Viggy, Viggy, you have been a bad monkey!

Blew off classes and a midterm to take the train up to New York and see one of My Bloody Valentine's first US reunion shows. Absolutely worth the damage done to my hearing and grade point average.

"Most Satisfying Season"?
Now, I love Sunny as much as the next guy, but I'm inclined to give the edge to season 4. "Mac & Dennis: Manhunters", "Mac & Charlie Die", "Who Pooped the Bed?", "The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell", AND "The Nightman Cometh" - sorry, season 5 was great, but that's a run of episodes that you

I can understand why one might prefer "Blood Mountain" or "Leviathan" over "Crack the Skye", though I must admit the fact that "Crack the Skye" was my introduction to Mastodon may have skewed my judgment in its favor. But yeah, "Remission" isn't quite up their with the other three.

Mastodon - "Crack the Skye"
There was a thread about this on the other 2009 albums article, but seriously, what the fuck? Metal banjo rules balls. Shoulda been on more than just the one ballot…

"Buffalo gums" is my favorite, but unless it's delivered in the right context, you end up having to explain what you meant and that's terribly uncomfortable.

Without regard to anyone's personal preference, it must be acknowledged that "RAISINLIVERED PINKY OUT BITCH" is a much more effective and interesting insult than "pencil dick". Advantage ZMF.

I think this guy has it figured out:

Dear lazerguided,

"The Superbowl is in a couple of months. I usually watch it with my brothers. Maybe you could come over during halftime and shoot me in the head."
