Yeah, the way he was trying to take care of her contrasts so much with how Maron handles this parade of ridiculously beautiful women on his show.

That being said: Bianica Del Rio. I forgive her being 57 years old. She is wise and fab and deserves the spotlight. Adore will blossom after the show airs.

"Middle America" hits me as a term used by very parochial people (many of whom live in big cities and on the coasts) who think they're more sophisticated than the rest of America. Oh, and condescending politicians. They seem to love the phrase, too.

For real? I totally related to that. Isn't it normal to take a moment to cherish the most important achievement of your life to date?

Also, Shosh's second, near-whisper "I love you."

I understand what you mean, but showing the work required for Hannah to be a writer could veer into Sex and the City territory, which I'm sure this show is eager to avoid. (Hannah on her bed, laptop at hand, click-clacking away…)

There are millions of people who are violent, have anger issues, and are mentally unstable. (Hell, I know a few of them!) Surely we can't accuse them all of murder.

Love both albums, esp. Live, and also adore the beautifully rough and ready, muddy Pretty on the Inside, the earlier album.

Women be running great comedies.

If it was 1 in 20 (which it ain't), is that any less startling? We're fussing over quantifying the truth that women, across the globe, are subject to horrific abuse because they're seen as less than human.

Julie Klausner or Amy Sedaris, too hard to choose…

She rocks, thanks for the interview

I very much approve of addressing bugs as "Sir" and "Ma'am."

I feel the same way about movies— It shows that they really aren't willing to go outside of their comfort zone, even to make money! Especially when you consider that there are 50+ million Latinos in America. If you went by movie leads (or TV leads, or people in commercials even) you would think white dudes make up 75%

Cartoons are more diverse than live action shows because they can just have a white dude voice Dr. Hibbert or Kahn Souphanousinphone.

Yeah, he has some remarkable non-insights sometimes… Kind of liked the friction between him and Cohen, though, at least she let her frustration out a little.

I'm sort of giving up on hopes that Stuart evolves into a less superficial guy thru the series, but I think I'm laughing more.

This is a good point— White straight dudes can be a vital part of any counterculture, but the "boys club" type of punk or rock always struck me as bizarre. At a certain point, a bunch of dudes playing punk in a garage is one of the most mainstream forms of rebellion possible.

More Smerch interacting with kids, thanks.

The arc should be how he becomes less superficial…. no?
