I heard Matt Weiner refuses to use songs that have come out after the time period the show takes place in so I thought it was a bit unfair for him to use "Millennium" by Robbie Williams.

I don't know if the AV club sensibility has just worn off on me but this review was spot-on to how I felt.  For a show that's done subtlety very well, I was a bit surprised by the "bang your over the head" quality of a lot of the finale.

I'm rewatching all of Breaking Bad with my gf, who has never seen it.  Now about halfway through season 3.  She gets stressed out easily during suspenseful scenes though and to my horror almost tried to cover her eyes at the exact moment that Hank totally OWNS the twins in "One Minute."  I rewound it insisted that she

I haven't read the book since 6th grade so maybe I'm not remembering correctly…but isn't Pennywise just one of the many forms that the formless "It" takes?  I don't remember it being all about the clown…This was the first Stephen King book I read by the way…I fucking loved it.

you shouldn't have apologized…would've been funnier.

Love this song.  Also, when I was 15 in 1995 I went to Zipperhead's and bought manic panic, green hair dye.  Yeah, I was that guy.

I do feel like in the mid-to-late 90s there was a kind of sterilization of mainstream entertainment. I sort of remember the 80s as being pretty violent and gritty (referring mostly to action movies) whereas around the late 90s it seemed like things were being slapped with PG-13 rating for the biggest box office

I was actually wondering about this.  Does anyone else feel that REM's late-80s albums (or others from their classic period) just sound a bit dated compared to those first two albums?  (Ironic, given that they are obviously older.)  I don't know, I haven't spent as much time with Green or Document but I just can't get

So, on the last article I noted that I never really went too deep into REM's discography and asked for suggestions.  I decided to basically go straight through and I've spent the last two weeks listening to Murmur and Reckoning.  Both…amazing.  Murmur still kind of has the edge for me.  As expected, Fables of
