I wonder if (commenter) Marc Maron has anything to say about this…

Wow, there seems to be a lot of (hipster?) backlash around these parts for this guy.
@avclub-1898a4d76532f237d9b5c0592dfe71a9:disqus It's more of a mini-enclave. There are many immigrants but it's also pretty obvious that they have a very specific culture which the next generation (even if they are born in America) remain a part of.
Hey Noel, I dug the article and commend you for getting so much conversation started.
Entertainment in film and TV has an annoying, complicated relationship with race. There's a very fine line between honest portrayals of race and pandering. Most of this time, the problem is addressed by throwing in a "token black friend" for every 5 or so white people. (Almost every mainstream film and TV show.)…
Yep.
I know it's been asked before but it's an interesting question: Why can't conservatives be funny? Look what happened to Dennis Miller.
I live in neighborhood in Brooklyn where the characters live and the show is shot, at least partly.
Hmmm…I find your opinion on this matter to be too fair nuanced and therefore not fit for this comment board.
I also imagine that the comments here will devolve from a chat about the merits of Bill Maher and into any angry flame war any moment now so I'm just going to cut to right to the chase:
Uh-oh, judging by how much he hated Religulous, Keith Phipps is going to be furious when he sees this.
I actually like the opposite - the stand-up, segments and New Rules way better than the roundtable.
I don't think that's true at all. I feel that Bill Maher often gets visibly annoyed when his audience gives a Pavlovian liberal applause (or when they groan at one of his jokes for being politically incorrect.) While he obviously needs his audience to be successful, I think that Maher is one of the rare performers…
Yeah, I don't know if it's significant or not but I remember thinking it was strange at the time. It reminded me of the skinny, dorky kid in high school who would get beat up all of the time…then you come back from college break and he is a DJ sporting frosted tips, trying very hard.
Yeah, and "Some Girls." I didn't mention that because I thought everyone loved that one.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of that one. The opening track is pretty dumb fun but the rest is kind of shit.
I'm not trying to do any baiting here but I think this album is way overrated.
I really like…
Okay, fine this guy is a total fuck but I have to admit “I think Mitt Romney's already denounced my guitar playing because it's too sexy" is a hilarious come-back.
I totally agree that Savoy Truffle is a subpar song. George must've been saving all of his best for "All Things Must Pass."
I only know the one song by this dude because it was in that Noah Baumbach movie, but I really like it.
