They didn't force them, Ehrin and Cuse were legitimately excited about getting her on the show. They just liked having a big name. I think they should have resisted that urge.

Yeah, all things being equal I would have preferred an actual actress as Marion Crane, and a straight-up death scene like the original movie. Maybe I'm just too bland, but I waited five seasons and they pulled a left turn. The show overall was still phenomenal though.
Getting punched in the face would still be miles and miles better than BSG's ending.
What a fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series. They earned the right to tell this story and they told it beautifully.
TAS did Batman better than about 80% of the actual comics ever did or ever will.
It's surprisingly hard to write a good Penguin story that doesn't involve him in some sort of mafia, which is obviously what the Gotham version succeeds at. His bird motif doesn't really lend itself to a lot of story potential in the same way Joker's 'chaos everywhere' motif does. Still, they did do "Birds of a…
DeVito did indeed put in quite the performance for that film, but he wasn't actually playing Oswald Cobblepot. This is much more faithful to the character.
Not just genuinely impressive set design (although it is damn great), but some genuinely impressive writing and acting at times. Robin Lord Taylor pretty much *is* the Penguin now, I don't see any actor ever unseating him.
It's not an actual Batman show because Warner Bros. wants Batman to only exist in the movies, and they only want Batman to exist in the movies because they think it will make the character feel more 'rare' (hahahahaha) and the movies will make more money than they would if the audience also had the option of just…
If you watched all of the first two seasons and quit then you cut yourself off right before it got to the good part. This may just be me, but I feel like Season 3 has been stellar. They've gone full-tilt into the insanity of the premise and actually managed to tell better stories now. The most recent group of episodes…
Jesus Christ, you're starring on what is arguably going to be the most feminist TV series ever made, either be comfortable with it and embrace the publicity or just don't say anything at all. Does she actually think anyone believes that crap?
I mean, I don't mind the comparison I guess? Your insult kind of falls flat there.
The moronic 'it could never happen here in the good ole' US of A' mentality is what allowed *exactly* that to happen here, and Spencer is purposely taking that on with Steve Rogers as a stand-in for the country. You thought your most sacred symbol of freedom and democracy is in no danger of turning in another…
No, he killed Nazis in the movie. Not all of his missions were against Hydra. And even if they were, he still likely shot many, many Nazis, because Hydra was a close ally of them, even if Red Skull resented that he had to really on Hitler's funding.
What really offends me about Sava's whole approach is that he's trashing a comic book story arc whose entire purpose is literally to call out the horror-show taking place in America today with Trump and fascists. Nick Spencer is on our side for fuck's sake! This kind of ideological purity test that these fools like to…
There's a certain subset of internet commentators who do what Sava does, which is to just regurgitate popular talking points and call absolutely everything 'problematic' without even the thinnest shred of actual substance involved. I don't know whether they're purposely doing it to get clicks and they know better…
We're in total agreement on that. Sava is too busy concerning himself with buzz words and trying to say shit that will get clicks. Actual political commentary would be appreciated when it came to this story, but Sava isn't the one to do it.
To be fair, Nick Spencer is writing this story arc for highly political reasons, and he'll be the first to confirm that it's all an extended Trump metaphor, even if Marvel/Disney have tried to shut him up about it. It's perfectly fine to not enjoy political stories in comic books, but to say this isn't a political…
If by that you mean that I'm assuming the concept of Secret Empire to be a good one, then yes, I am assuming it's a good concept. People have every right to disagree with that, but I'd prefer they justify their arguments a little better than Sava does in this article.
*shrugs* I'm sure there are some people who would read your post about weekly suggestions and such. Instead of bemoaning all the political content, I would just talk about what I wanted to talk about.
