And they realized they fucked up so much that they're bringing Katie Cassidy back full-time next year to play her Earth-2 version. It'll never make up for what they did to original recipe Laurel, but at least they're eating crow for it.

Hmm. There's still some idiot ball, but the show burns through plot so much it barely registers anymore. It's a matter of taste. Gotham isn't meant to be treated as a serious drama, it's an alternative version of the Batman mythos filled with campy fun and so many 'Holy Shit!' moments it'll make your head spin. If…
If you're calling that a mark against Arrow then I'm with you 100%. However, aside from Felicity, I've always found the women of Arrow to be really great, well-rounded characters. Thea's arc has never depended on a man, Laurel's arc stopped depending on a man after Season 1, etc.
Oh Arrow is definitely bringing it this year, totally agreed. It's quite a shame that Flash has to suffer for Arrow and Legends to prosper.
Arrow has one of the best female characters of any comic book TV show ever made (Thea), so I wouldn't exactly call the show bad when it comes to women.
Legends of Tomorrow has single-handedly proven that a superhero team-up show on weekly TV is not only possible, but able to be done ridiculously well. They take the characters seriously, don't waste time on petty bullshit, and generally just functions as the best DC universe porn a fan could ask for.
The Arrowverse writers really just have a shitty track record in terms of respecting the Black Canary character and giving her the storylines she deserves, in any iteration.
Really not trying to trash your opinion, honestly. I get where you're coming from, my enjoyment of far too many shows has been soured by the addition of a romance plot I hated. If it helps, I do actually agree that the show would do well to spread the screentime around a little more equally so that no individual…
Yes. Feminism means equality, not superiority. Legends of Tomorrow is feminist as hell, moreso than Supergirl I'd argue, because instead of hammering us with ridiculously on-the-nose empowerment messages, they just *show* us the female characters being awesome. Male characters are awesome on that show too! It's almost…
Hope Marc Guggenheim likes the taste of crow. The behind the scenes drama of Arrow has become so much more compelling than the actual show. It's such a shitshow. First the Olicity lovers complain that Laurel is getting too much focus, so they minimize Laurel's role drastically and make Felicity the leading lady. Then,…
You're shifting the goalposts just a little here. Just because you think it's lousy drama doesn't mean everyone else has to.
And they did not officially become a couple until 2x13.
Except she's not? Name one instance where she's had something happen *to* her, and not been the driver of the plot. She's the main character, she's the center of attention, all the focus is on her way more than it has been, or ever will be, on Mon-El.
Despite what the reviewer seems to think, what the evidence shows to me is that the writers have absolutely not forgotten that Kara is the main character, and therefore should always be the driver of the plot. Hell, she drives the plot of her own show way more than Barry gets to on The Flash (one of the many reasons…
Yes, that triangle was insufferable because it focused on two characters (James and Lucy) who were so much of a non-presence I pretty much fell asleep during their scenes. Mon-El at least is interesting.
They've been together officially for 4 and 1/2 episodes, why are you acting like this has been going on for seasons on end?
Yes, exactly. If you think about it, even the plot about his parents is something that you'd usually see happen to female characters more. There have to be a dozen sci-fi shows/movies out there where you have the alien princess disguising her true identity and refusing to go back with her evil parents because she fell…
It had a plot driven arc, sure, but it moved like a snail and they killed off the most interesting villain way too early because the actress needed out. The Big Bad was so boring it wasn't even funny, and they utterly wasted Laura Vandervoort as a bargain bin Brainiac. This season may have too many arcs to juggle…
Disagree with the reviewer here, I think this is the episode where the character of Mon-El finally came into his own and lost the initial clunkiness. Anyone who was questioning his moral integrity has hopefully had their fears put to rest by the scene where he pleaded with his father to turn Daxam into a democracy,…
I think you just mean Panic! at the Disco.
