Ah yeah, "The Return". I'd almost forgotten. That was actually 50% flashback and 50% present day though, let's not forget the Oliver and Thea fighting Slade on the island story.

Seven actually. Still an eternity for this show.

Hmm. I think Oliver decides to go back to Lian Yu of his own accord, simply so that he can make the world think he was finally 'rescued' by that passing ship in the pilot episode.

Lundgren is such an obvious candidate to be KGBeast that I'm ashamed of myself for not thinking of it sooner.

Much as I hate to admit it I feel like you're right. They're totally going to get Oliver back with Felicity by the finale, aren't they? *crosses fingers for a miracle*

God, that would have been the best easter egg I've ever seen. Now I'm pissed that they couldn't have included a quick shot of Kovar handing him that book, and Malcolm walking offscreen followed by a vague time travel sound effect that no one bats an eye at.

If it's Ghost Moira, then the whole show becomes an unholy mix of Dexter and Bates Motel.

Dolph Lundgren actually surviving was a pretty shocking twist for me. It seems like he's going to return in the present day and I am 100% for this development. When has more Dolph ever hurt anything, to be honest?

I can't believe this didn't get the full A. I know we aren't supposed to complain about grades, but if there was ever an episode of Arrow that deserved the full A, it's this. Top 5 of the entire series. I'm floored that the show can be this good a mere 4 episodes after that goddamn gun control fiasco.

Hmm. Let me guess, do you happen to be white? Cool your jets there, buddy. Just because you hate the word race (wonder why that could be), doesn't mean other people can't discuss it. I hate Sava's reviews as much as the next person, I think this show would be much better off with a different reviewer, but saying the

Yeah, more writers really need to put more thought into long-term sustainability. Supernatural does meta episodes at least once a season and they're in year 12 right now, so it is actually possible to have the best of both worlds if you do it right.

Yeah, I realized that error, haha. As a big DC comics fan I am ashamed of myself.

Agreed. I wasn't a huge fan of the episode as a whole, but that last song worked and the rest of "Duet" would have done well to be more like it. The only time in the whole episode that the music actually mattered. That and Grant Gustin performed it perfectly.

YES. Gotham musical, get on it, Fox executives!

God, Mick and Leonard should get the big love song duet to be honest. They were totally soul mates (an interpretation that doesn't need to have any hint of romance to work).

It's really true. The Flash plays it all for laughs so often that I can't take it seriously. Even Arrow's doing that these days. Way too many 'cute' meta references actually seriously erodes credibility as genuine drama in the long term. Legends just gets it somehow in a way the others don't, which is weird since it's

Ray: Mick, you've gotta help, we're all spontaneously bursting into song! Look at my feet, I'm tapdancing! *starts singing some number about being a tiny hero with a big heart*

'Hey, I finally got the Waverider's food replicator to make beer with actual alcohol in it. I got it… to make… goddamn it not the singing again… a beer…' *chorus in the background* "He got it to make beeeeeeeeer!"

*Mick strolls past in the background of everyone else's epic emotional song quietly singing an ode to how much he loves beer*

Rip gets to do a variation on Giles' 'Standing' with Sara, except it's more of a 'I'm afraid to pass the torch' kind of message.
