No real powers? Tony Stark is the one with no real powers. Steve Rogers kept a helicopter from taking off with one goddamn hand during Civil War. I think he's got maybe just a smidgen of powers.

Take that up with Scott Buck.

I just made an embarrassing squeal of delight

Every season of SHIELD has been better than the last in my opinion. A lot of people claim 2 was better than 3, but in my opinion 3 had a much more compelling narrative through-line. I won't be entirely unhappy with this being the end of SHIELD, because as you said, at least it'll be going out on the highest of high

He might not be able to beat Luke, but he could figure out a way to trap him. And as for Danny, I think the whole point of the review we're commenting on is that Danny obviously isn't who he's supposed to be in the comics. Matt could takes this chump out in a second.

That would be great, except for it to work I'd have to believe that Michael C. Hall apparently lost 100% of his sexiness in order to become Finn Jones. That would be a sad day indeed.

Makes me lose all of my faith in humanity that the minute SHIELD gets a really, legitimately amazing season (Season 3 was really great too, but 4 undoubtedly surpassed it), its ratings fall through the floor. Do people not give a fuck about well-written TV? Like, even in the slightest?

God, I feel such a deep sense of pain by proxy for anyone whose favorite Marvel character is Danny Rand. You all deserved a lot better than this kind of raw deal (brought to you by Dexter).

I hated Karen's little column at the end about heroes (barf), and I agree that some of the Punisher stuff ended up feeling a little like an anticlimax, so I'm not going to say it was perfect TV, but I came into it as a huge fan of Daredevil's various battles with the Hand from the comic books, so that probably biased

Daredevil should absolutely be the Batman of the Defenders. He's the only non-powered one, the most serious one, and when the time comes everyone's jaw will drop at how quickly he can take one of his supposed 'betters' out in a fight, simply because brute force doesn't equal intelligence in a combat situation.

We're getting one, I think next year.

Yes, a million times yes. This is absolutely the #1 reason why I've always been convinced that Danny Rand should be white, because look at all of the creative opportunities you have to deal with issues like racial privilege, multiculturalism, etc. It could be an amazing story when done properly. Now though, because

As one of the people who actually enjoyed Daredevil Season 2 from start to finish, I roll my eyes every time someone says 'oh, the defenders is going to suck because of these writers'. But even if I were to agree with you on every single criticism of that season, I still think it would be about 80x better than Scott

I'll allow Marvel a bomb in the Netflix bunch, it was always wishful thinking to hope that all 4 would be equally good anyway. But if this destroys Agents of SHIELD, possibly the very best comic book show on TV, a TV show run by one of the Whedons at that, and instead we're given more Buck-Ups (A Scott Buck Fuck-Up),

Marvel has one person to blame for this: themselves. Danny Rand could be written incredibly well as a white character. He's stayed white even in the last decade or so when it's become frowned upon to be racist in comic books, and yet I've never heard cries of racism over it. A lot of people don't seem to understand

Thank you so much for continuing Politics Corner. I don't check in daily, but the news of what happened yesterday with Velocirapstar depressed the hell out of me. Glad we're still carrying on in the grand tradition though. This is the place where I come to decompress after any given day where I spend too much time

He saw Dean living a happy life with Lisa and Ben, and he's always prized Dean's happiness above all else. Of course he wasn't going to go to Dean. Obviously hindsight's 20/20, but still.

Are you kidding? That's all you can come up with? All the guy did was complain about terrible service. I would complain about terrible service. I might not go so far as to post a pic of the server's face, but we've all had bad days. Not that this is supposed to be an excuse for anything (I don't think he needs one),

The fact that they finally brought Chuck in as God and gave him this whole dramatic arc, as well as several in-depth conversations with the brothers, made me wonder if I'd died and gone to heaven (no pun intended). Some of the best material the show ever produced.

That's absolutely true, everything with the Brits felt tacked on. But I didn't mind the soul bomb, especially because they never used it. Dabb did an admirable job in my opinion.
