I wasn't going to bring it up, but since you did, I'll just say that I lost my grandmother (who was just as, if not more important to me in my life as either of my parents), and it was in a way not entirely dissimilar to what happened in "The Body". I was in the room when it happened. The episode still didn't mean a

I love Season 6 a lot, but it's not because I think they stopped trafficking in metaphor. The metaphors were still extremely strong in Season 6, in fact I think some of the best metaphors the show ever did were in that season, like Buffy's ongoing 'taken from heaven' arc as a metaphor for dealing with depression and

I hated Riley from the beginning until he left, so the fact that 4 is still my favorite season says a lot about the quality of everything surrounding him. You're absolutely right that the emotional arc the Scoobies go through is well done, I think it's one of the best in the show because of how it gives each of them a

Yeah, Xander's dream hit the hardest for me because it really made you feel his inner pain about his parents in a way very few other episodes managed to accomplish except for "Hell's Bells".

Oh thank The Powers That Be, I'm not the only one. I fully respect the episode in terms of artistic achievement (the direction is something to behold), but in terms of substance it feels flat for me. It's kind of like, yeah, death comes suddenly sometimes and there's no rhyme or reason, but didn't we know that

I don't know, I think the context was pretty good too. "The Yoko Factor" is a legitimately great episode (this is arguable of course, just my opinion), and "Primeval" was really enjoyable for me due to what might be the best action setpiece Buffy ever pulled off.

That ranking sounds about right. It's a shame Giles' dream was the shortest. I almost think Xander may have had the best dream, simply for the scene where the color scheme went weird and Giles started talking in French and calling him an idiot.

Holy shit, it's the same bridge! I wonder if it was intentional at all? There have got to be a few Buffy fans on the writing staff of that show.

I've made a little space for the cheese slices!

Seconded. Buffy only gets better on rewatch, because after a lot of distance from it you realize just how much fucking *better* it is than the majority of shows currently on TV. It's almost unfair that Joss Whedon hogged all the talent in the world and dumped it into this show.

"Spike's like a son to me." *contented smile*

I remember one night a few years back when my mom (also a huge fan) and I happened to catch a Buffy marathon on Chiller and ended up watching it until 1 in the morning, everything from "School Hard" to "The Dark Age" I think. It's so damn rewatchable.

No Buffy binge-watch is complete without "Restless", I'm sorry. Not only is it the most gut-bustingly funny thing the show ever did, it's filled with deep, deep symbolism, enough foreshadowing to make your head explode in a new way each time you watch it, and a creepy atmosphere that sends chills down your spine

Wasn't trying to attack Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, as I said below. I should've looked up the context obviously. I'm incredibly happy to see that there are two shows on the same network with such positive bisexual representation!

Apologies, I didn't mean for that comment to sound so harsh. I didn't know the context, I was still just extremely happy about the show finally confirming Sara's orientation beyond the shadow of a doubt.

She should begin projecting herself as a hologram presence, kind of like The Doctor on Star Trek: Voyager.

Perfect parallel, thanks for the visual illustration.

What I'd like to see is Rip basically guide them into becoming the new Time Masters, only with a much greater sense of morality and human decency.

Sara has an established romantic connection to Snart, that's the only reason I brought it up. I would personally be incredibly happy if they gave her a long-term romance with a female character.

Or they could be applauded for actually using the word and not trying to be cute about it. I'm sure Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a great show, but TV needs to stop tiptoeing around people's sexual orientations. Legends did it best.
