I think the "new direction in rap" did happen as we evolved from the Gangsta era of the early 90s. Rap become even more popular and mainstream because of Fugess, J5, and DP. You seem to harbor resentment towards DP and/or hip hop in general. There is plenty of room on the music spectrum for all kinds of hip hop and just because some of us like DP doesn't mean we don't like NWA or Public Enemy.

Still "in development" according to IMDB. The book is one of my favorites and I love the story and how it ties into the World's Fair.
