Currently reading: Liberty (non fiction about some French Revolution ladies) and The Beginning of Infinity (non fiction about the Enlightenment and the scientific method or something… I only kind of like it).

Ugh, so sorry to hear that.

I'm a books first type usually (if I know a book exists), but I refuse to read ASOIAF unless GRRM finishes them.  I did start watching the show, though.

Good Omens is one of my favourite books, and American Gods is the only other Gaiman I've read besides a couple of short stories.  I've heard he excels at writing comics, but have no personal experience to back up that statement.

I don't think it's pretentious, but I do find it odd.  Are there many "Gillians" out there who pronounce the name with a hard "G"?  Because she's the only one I've ever heard of.

I totally missed it until now.  Argh!

@avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus  I seriously do want the intermissions back in long movies.

I am intrigued and would like to read more!

Thanks so much!  I think I might try to get this thing edited to my 2013 standards this weekend and post the revision next week.

One of my paternal great-grandmas almost became a nun before falling in love with my great-grandpa.  The pews full of people at her funeral who wouldn't have existed if she'd made that choice are one of the most compelling arguments on the "pro" side of my personal kids vs no kids debate.

I read a very interesting but outdated book recently-ish that was an academic analysis of soap opera, gothic novels, and category romance (in three separate parts), that made some really intriguing points about why category romance (which I'm particularly concerned with for nerdy reasons) is as bad as it is.  I feel

The plane was the funniest part of the whole thing.  The movie definitely overstayed its welcome, but I liked it a lot and saw it a couple of times at the theatre.

Thank you very much!

Minuscule!  Well under 500,000 people (like, so far), probably considered a town in most civilized places.

Not a morning person, but that seems like something that could be done after work while supper is cooking, too.  Thanks!

I thought it would be too late!  But ok you convinced me.  Do people check back on this thread later?

A desert online, I should've specified.

Thanks!  I guess maybe I need to seriously reconsider how I distribute my meals throughout the day, and move from three to six or something.  Breakfast, second breakfast at break, snack lunch at noon, second lunch at break, snack supper on the drive home, second snack supper at home.

Thanks for your suggestions and encouragement!

Oh my God, so I'm finally back on the TI after several weeks away and I actually have something to post… next week!
