I thought the last shot was bs. Any show can end with someone running to the beach, then a tight close-up and play swelling music. That doesn't mean it's earned or that it even is a real ending.

I've avoided Neil Gaiman since I've tried getting back in to comics a few years back because the praise has been heaped on him. I've never heard of this book, but it sounds really 90s. From reading the comments it seems he's guilty of the same crime of most comic writers, mediocre writing.
