Noooo no no, she just wants to keep people from shooting him. And let's be real, Jen's way more intimidating than Bruce is, even when she isn't green.

Real talk: my assumption is that everything we've seen so far has been Ulysses's vision. Issue 8 is a pull back to show him telling everyone what he saw. Carol goes off to do some serious soul searching, Tony goes to find Riri and retires. Rhodey joins him, they get drunk on the beach. Shulkie tries to figure out

I think that's the biggest thing I miss about MCU phase 1 is that there WAS that feeling of being auteur-driven. But then the mouse and the corporate overlords felt the need to make it a studio experience and create these huge crossover events, which coincidentally is the same issue plaguing Marvel 616 right now.

There were some individual jokes that fell flat and the Joker could have been cut entirely without negatively impacting the movie…but overall it was a fun jaunt.

I've been telling ya'll for months they're about to Dallas us.

Batman Returns, hands down. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman invalidates all other choices.

Surprising no one, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Oh man you should never sit near me during CA: TFA or CA: CW. Winter Soldier will always have a soft spot in my heart, but Jesus the other two were a mess. My friends refuse to watch TFA with me.

I am firmly of the opinion that many pros love Marvel so much (mostly because of the charm of the stars rather than that they make good movies) that there is NOTHING DC could do to get a good review out of a lot of them.

If you ever end up in Chicago, you know how to get a hold of me so we can high five and talk comics. :D

The issue is most small press people DO rely on cons to make them most of their money. I definitely don't have the perfect solution to the problem, but having tabled at a couple of SF/F cons and a couple much smaller comic-focused cons, we make 5-10 times more money at comic-focused cons that are 5-10 times smaller

Honestly, that's been my biggest issue with old school SF/F cons in general (and anime cons) as a tabler rather than an attendee. They're open as organizations to having more comic content, but there's a lot of history and momentum that's got them in a point where most of them aren't at all profitable to table at,

Zinefests are huge for small press/self publishing people. There's a great one in Chicago and tables are less than $30 if I remember right. Keep your eye on the small/weird cons, it'll help build up your profit buffer because tables are often less than $50 and you can work your way up to bigger things like

From what I know, CONvergence is a bit more SF/F heavy than comics heavy, but that doesn't mean there isn't space…more that the only folks I know that go every year (driving in from Chicago) are SF/F fiction pros

How far are you willing to drive? I've got a list of midwest cons that might be pretty feasible for you, but you should DEFINITELY keep an eye on ComiqueCon for next year, I think applications might be closed already for this year. It's in Dearborn, Michigan and it's almost all women/nb/genderqueer folks. Very

I NEED to get out there sometime soon, for sure. I know I want to do SPX next year as well, the timing didn't work out this year. If you're ever in Chicago, let me know ahead of time, I'll buy you a beer (or other adult beverage of your choosing). I actually pitched C2E2 a panel about how to write reviews, they

I love chatting with other comics critics specifically about that topic. Like, many of us have day jobs, but many of us are also creators. It's a back and forth tug of war that can get uncomfortable sometimes, and I'm not even sure what the answers are.

Shitty gothy 16 year old me would be SO PISSED right now but a huge chunk of my defining characteristics are being happy and enthused about awesome things. Also pizza. #hufflepuff4life

I say go for it! That's literally what I did when I started here last year, I'd been doing stuff for free and pretty active on a couple of forums previously, and I figured that the worst that could happen was I'd get rejected, but continue having fun with what I was already doing.
