Just to be clear — and also fair to the memory of the enduring Nashville treasure that they are — the previous band to which Mr. Hughes associated Ben Folds' "Fear of Pop" collaborator, John Mark Painter, was called "Fleming and John" — not the other way around. Lead singer Fleming McWilliams was (and still is to my

I agree with St. God, LOST was a victim of its own popularity in not knowing (or in the case of other things Damon Lindelof has been in charge of…*coughcough…Prometheus*), perhaps not even caring about how long one might have to adequately explain and develop the plot points and characters in a story. IMO, Lost became

"Peter poked himself in the back of the neck to avenge Etta; Olivia has
to poke herself in the back of the neck to try and bring her back."

Quite correct, hornacek. And if ya really wanna get all wordy-nerdy about it, 'The Boy Must Live' was technically FRINGE's antepenultimate episode. Tonight's first hour, 'Liberty' would be the penultimate entry.

I really see 'the redemption of Sarah Braverman' as the overriding moral of the entire series. Partially because she's such a polarizing personality (sympathetic yet excruciatingly annoying) and partially because she's Lauren Graham. It will indeed be interesting to see whether she turns the corner for real this time

HAAAA!

HAAAA!

I don't know if anyone else did, but a couple weeks ago I saw the brief portion of an interview Monica Potter did on the Comcast Xfinity OnDemand preview channel that suggested Christina's plot turn that we're seeing now, but not necessarily that she'll be kicking the bucket anytime soon. I for one will be very

This is something I've wanted to say for as long as I've followed your reviews of this show, Todd, and it isn't directed so much at your opinion of the music as it really is about the show in general. However, the subject of the indie-type music is a great platform for it, so I'll go ahead and step up to the podium.

Thanks for the love, Luis! But nah, if they were silly enough to ask me to do what Todd does, they'd be waiting until Friday to see a review posted! *LOL*

I gave this episode a C for "CONFLICT" — but then that's what this show apparently feeds upon, so maybe that's a little redundant.

I was right there with ya on most of your points, Duke, but your calculation of the time-lag discrepancy is way above my typical mental pay grade. Nice work there.  :)

Thank you for your gentle correction, jerodast; when I searched AVClub last week, I flat-out missed Zack Handlen's review of Haven's first episode, nearly two-and-a-half years ago. So yeah, they HAVE reviewed it, however, the fact that it was a one-and-done review pretty much makes my case.
