I always thought this was one of those albums with a huge drop off between side one and side two, with the exception of Cool Water which is a great, great song.

I read it a few months ago as well. As great a player as he was (and yes, his personal life left a lot to be desired), the "what might have been" but for his many many injuries is always an intriguing (and depressing) aspect of his life.

I had some time to myself and finally immersed myself in the Springsteen Darkness on the Edge of Town Box set from a few years back. It's my favorite Springsteen record by a long shot and I bought this the day it came out, but beyond listening to the remastered CD and The Promise outtakes CD, I really hadn't spent

Finally got around to seeing "Django Unchained" over the weekend. Wildly entertaining. The preview to that Apocalypse movie with Seth Rogan, James Franco, Craig Robinson, etc. looked potentially promising.

I struggled with the Flashbacks as well in The Redbreast. I finally had to go back and one point and reread all of them. I need to try and get my hands on the Hole novels published before that one.

I watched "Dazed and Confused" for the first time in while and thankfully it was every bit as good as I remember it being.

As a native South Carolinian, I'd have to say we win this one hand's down.
