i wasn't at all blown away by Lebowski, and then I saw it again and was. The key for me was to approach it as a period piece, with every character and component a statement on early 90s America.

i'll man the counter-petition for people who prefer to see movies without goofy light up suits in front of us.

    variable romanizations

    huh.

yeah, "wacky hijinks" sums it up. i wouldn't mind so much if i hadn't fallen in love with the show for its amazing 30-second real time jim/pam silence on the deck of a boat in season 2.

see Block Party. it will make you down for runnin' up on them crackers in they city hall.

in terms of liking or not liking the film and its story, i can understand that as an individual subjective experience—i personally sat there with a shit-eating grin, others may not. I do think that this comes down to a distaste for what the film was trying to convey as opposed to how successful it is on its own

i'm never overwhelmingly happy to agree with the internet when it's being mean, but the mean internet is right on this one.

For a second, I throught Phil Collins's record was title "Going Black."
That wound have been ballsy, eh?

jarvis cocker was in there for the same reason they were tossing around words like "existentialist" and really why anderson directed it to begin with: more for the sake of cutesy irony than anything else.

    my experience exactly.

delightening. i made that up. you can have it.

No way, Disco. Fantastic Mr. Fox was wordy—annoyingly so, in my opinion—but Wild Things was all about packing big ideas and emotions into very simple words. The sun is going to die—there's no SAT vocabulary in that sentence, but it conveys exactly the kind of too-big, too-strange, too-scary reality that i remember

    yup. i came.

i wasn't fucking shaming him, i was pointing out a typo. sometimes people fix these things, no big deal.

    hey sean
i think one of those two lead actress listings should be for supporting actresses.

dammit woman, let me do my porn movies in peace!

    I take umbrage
with the title of this film.

you know what? i just might do that.
