Love this album, and his first one as well. It sounds like Brian Wilson if he got kicked in the nuts by The Pixies.

Yea, I'm not raving about Caveman, it just seems odd it hasn't been covered on this site, considering they covered Alkaline Trio and al album of Rilo Kiley B-sides earlier this month. The KV album is incredible, but that belongs in a different discussion.
Yea… seems like they'll cover some albums that nobody (meaning me) gives a shit about, but will leave out some important releases. KV and Caveman being two big ones.
I heard the same thing. His musical style/production just has the potential for some really nice hip-hop collaborations. And yea agreed, that RZA track is tight.
Agreed. And his character has a pretty unique comedic timing… I LOL'd pretty hard when he half failed trying to blow on Shevrang's stomach.
My thoughts exactly, including their reactions at several other points during the saga.
I was thinking more of a Mrs. Featherbottom.
I'm getting a pretty strong Van Dyke Parks vibe on this album. Maybe a bit of MGMT-on-a-good-day, too. I'm diggin it a lot though… rather significant growth from Year of Hibernation IMO.
so what you're saying is you actually want a dog?
I dunno, I thought this one was a hell of a lot funnier than last week. And I'm looking for funny, because we all know we're not going to get any more plot development until the last 3 episodes of the season.
There are at least a half of a dozen lines in this tune that give me the chills, every time I listen.

Oh boy, Rear View Mirror has a bunch of my favorite takes on his tunes, including 'Lungs' and especially 'If I Needed You.' 'Tecumseh Valley' too.

No love for the new Wallflowers?

Great album, and it couldn't ask for a better closing track than Passing Afternoon.

I've gotten to be a pretty decent fan of The Fox Hunt, a group out of Northern WV (check out their Mountain Stage performance (http://www.npr.org/2010/05/…
