No, she's (and see ya at the academic tribunal for assuming Kris is female) probably not. It was just an ad hominem, knee-jerk response to something I usually choose to ignore.

lol, I voted for that dude for governor.

I agree. I found it interminable, as most Broadway is these days. I also think people were browbeaten into thinking it was wonderful because the author had died of an aneurysm in a brilliant stroke of marketing genius. That was the headline during the opening. Factor in the White Guilt Pulitzer it then received and

I went to university too, Kris. I know the difference between people who read Cliffs Notes and regurgitate the popular line and people who think independently (and thus willing to risk being incorrect). I gave my theory. You gave a polemic, just like you have throughout this thread.

Alec Baldwin does that bit on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. It is quite funny, as is the whole webisode.

Good for you. Fine work.

I have always felt academia misread the book. Atwood is a feminist, yes, but my read is the book is a black comedy about what could happen when feminism devours itself through misandry.

I have to agree. I saw the movie c. 1997 in a theater. I was 26 at the time. I found it terribly dated and more of a curio than great cinema. And we all smoked copious amounts of marijuana beforehand.

I'm with you. That show rocked and I watched it all the time in the 1970s. I think it was instrumental in teaching me how to play with language, something I enjoy now.

When I was in high school and the song came out, we all made fun of it because of Axl's Joan Cusack-in-Working Girl hair and his serpentine dance.

I wonder how Benny would have been in The Sunshine Boys.

Arthur "Uncle Arthur" Maxwell is the call. His books are hilarious.

"What's going to happen?"

Wasn't that The Outlaw Josey Wales?

Oh, good gravy, I had forgotten about that. Granted, I have not seen the movie since it ran ad infinitum on the HBO during Reagan's second term.

I want to say that is a good idea but it means inflicting Jack Black upon us once again.

"I killed Nicole with honor."

I am surprised they didn't go with Meryl Streep.

I saw that also when Darden was watching television while calling the Goldmans. I am assuming it is this C-Span broadcast. Hitchens was a fixture on their morning Washington show.
