I have to confess, the upcoming arc is my favorite storyline of the series. On the other hand, what a complete crock. I mean, the odds of this happening are nil. I also love that Jean-Paul is played by a kid from Ohio.

This is BS "coulda, shoulda, woulda" but what if Marlene Dietrich played the Tallulah Bankhead role in "Lifeboat"? I wonder how awesome that would have been. I realize I am asking us to tinker with a great film and I love Bankhead's performance in it. But Dietrich would have made an interesting choice if only because

If you are too lazy to dig through Dietrich's oeuvre, watch Maximillian Schell's documentary "Marlene".

I've made some good loot writing college papers when I was broke. It is amazing how much people will pay because they are too lazy to read The Great Gatsby.

Isn't "Sidney Applebaum" referencing "Love & Death"?

I think Infamous is a far better film than Capote, which I found to be a lot of White Nonsense. Infamous gave a far better portrait of the man and his times. We saw the impish side of Capote. And who doesn't want to see Babe Paley do The Twist? (Well, Juliet Stevenson's Twist was something to behold also.)

My uncle was like that. Every Thanksgiving, after giving thanks, he'd start in, "Give me the ass. The ass is the best part of the turkey." And he'd boil the bones of the turkey to make a stock. He could gnaw a rib clean. And he was always making "stews".

Well, it's gonna be six-of-one half-a-dozen of the other. I'd argue that the stress and constraints are what makes good art. It makes you think, work around problems. The famous example is, of course, Jaws.

I love Arrested Development. I was one of those assholes when it aired telling everyone they needed to watch it and upbraided them for not doing so while lamenting the lack of intelligence of the average television viewer. I bought the DVDs when they came out and it cost like $40 a season. I have literally given out

I realize I am Comic Book Guy here, but Queen Victoria died in 1901.
