Evil Live
Yeah, I wasn't so psyched on that track- but they played a FMU-sponsored show with The Ex and Getatchew Mekurya at Lincoln Center last summer that was really, really incredible. Maybe they're one of those bands that don't come across on record.

I'm not being sarcastic…
Tom pledged to Seven Second Delay like 3 or 4 times, just to drive home the fact that they weren't going to make as much money as him. Every time he'd say something like "You guys are the *real* best show on WFMU…" and it would just make Andy madder and madder. Brilliant!
Tom gets a premium

We clap for Mouse pledges
WFMU: The only reason I haven't hurled myself off a Parkway overpass.

Some kind of "Hoagiecast"

NJ's Finest
Personally, I think it's time for Tom Scharpling to start shopping for a coffin.

Yup- first thing that crossed my mind.
Is Ace Fu still around?

Sunflower Suit
Hey, Buffalo Tom wasn't that bad…

Mix-a-lot
I can't use these, but maybe somebody else can:
Bill Withers - Lovely Day
Pere Ubu - Breath
Jarvis - Black Magic
The Modern Lovers - I Wanna Sleep In Your Arms
Tom Waits - Come On Up To The House
and Ted Leo's live cover of "Fisherman's Blues" if you can track it down.

"Eyes Like Sparks." Ouch. Talk about one of the songs I can never, ever, ever listen to again. That and "Darling Be Home Soon" by The Lovin' Spoonful.

And "You Can Have It All" off of "And Then Nothing…"

Yeah, I wondered about that too.
So who exactly are they disgusted with? There seems to be more good metal out there now than there ever was. Not that I'm accusing Fred Durst of saying something ignorant…

OH-WAY-OW-OOH-OH-OH!!!
Wow, this song is like crack. Like honey-roasted crack with powdered sugar and wasabi mustard.

Huzzah!
It's been too long a wait for new Thermals stuff…

@ Magical:
Bank? No way man- Chicago Chronicle!

I'm so glad I got to see them the one time I did. It's funny sometimes you never know which shows you'll be glad you were at until years later.

Ooh! Nation of Ulysses. Good one.
Brendan Canty is a Pharmacist now.

Amen. I saw them 4 or 5 times and they never, ever, under any circumstances, let you down. It was a guaranteed sweaty good time.

Did you see them in Battery Park? I saw them there in the summer of 97. I didn't have a ticket so I waited for somebody to leave and got theirs, just in time to hear their "Indian Summer" cover. One of my favorite concert memories.

I just saw David Byrne and he was fucking fantastic. But how does playing Heads/Eno songs jibe with his "always moving forward in art" idea? I kinda need to call bullshit on that. If you're going to play Talking Heads songs, just invite everybody else along too.

I saw Pavement 5 or 6 times back in the day. They were always fun, but never near my "Best Shows Ever" list.
