Louis Nizer's My Life In Court is probably still the best depiction of what being a lawyer is really like. Twenty-four hours of tedious preparation for maybe 5 minutes in the courtroom. It's no wonder it takes so long to get ready to go to trial.

it's probably William Safire
That's not what I remember Buckley screaming at Vidal, but he was probably the first person to scream curses on live tv. It was more along the lines of "I'll punch your goddamn face in."
Seasons in the Sun, original version. On an endless loop.
Jack London (yeah, The Call of the Wild author) did a post-apocalyptic story that could be the inspiration for Earth Abides. I don't remember the name, unfortunately, but it's exceedingly pessimistic about mankind.

Two Bruce Dern movies: Tattoo and Smile.
One Kirk Douglas movie: Lonely Are the Brave.
A Boy and His Dog is based on a Harlan Ellison story. If you like that sort of thing.
Yeah. "Kota" means "3 horns" in Cro Magnonese.
I'm waiting for someone to come to my door and ask if I've heard about Allah.

"Well, what, are we supposed to sit here and go 'This sucks, and I wish this would have been better?'"
Haven't the majority of people run away from nature to live in cities? Where it's a lot easier to find something to eat.
"Paragon and paradigm are synonyms."
No, not really. A paradigm is a model, and a paragon is an example (or model) of excellence.
Agatha Christie killed off Jane Marple and Hercule Poirot and stuck to it. Of course, she was really old and fabulously wealthy by then.
I liked Lazenby, too. I suspect that the fans didn't like him because they wanted the pure fantasy that Bond films came to represent rather than the grit of the origin. In the very beginning, Connery's Bond was a professional assassin, just on the "right" side. Not stylish, not charming.
Sometimes Patti Reagan seems like a goddess, almost.
Sorry you had to find out this way, man.
I like Browning, but I know I'm a philistine.
How about Smile, with Bruce Dern and Barbara Feldman? Unless it has cult status.
And Tattoo? Another Bruce Dern movie, with Maud Adams or some other model. It's the one where he kidnaps her and covers her with tattoos.
