Sounds a bit like modern-day 1984
Emotions suppressed to prevent revolt.
Corporate productivity to keep the middle class too busy to revolt.
Media keeping the public too ignorant to revolt.
A secret meeting place where they can revolt against their crafted facades.
Coworkers who do revolt, exploding/disappearing …

At the Walmart I work at, the managers in the back were "prepping" the older workers for the "gothic" shock they would encounter during the Twilight DVD midnight sale event … complete with clips playing in the background, shirts, toys, games and a line of people that was about 500-strong.

Preacher
I started with that … or the Gunslinger graphic novels for any Stephen King fan.

Am I in another dimension? Was Penn Gillette in the version of The Fountainhead that you read?

I'm glad someone mentioned this; it's still the fondest memory I have of the movie, which I'll be Netflixing immediately.

I suppose so. Does anyone actually remember what happened at said-party?

I don't get the hatred for Ayn Rand
Okay, so she's been adopted by Conservatives …

The Response
From Jamba was fairly normal. I thought it would've been better if they would have written a form letter stating that "David Rees is a cenobite."

Sounds like it will go over well.

Such is the plight of the witty and attractive woman who willingly walks into the forest of nerds. You will be huddled around by a harmless but frightening mob.

Right …

I agree with Nick on this one. I hadn't seen his work before now, but he definitely had an eye and did great work capturing places that many people will never see nor experience. The photos in the video definitely make a statement, and they drew out a response from me.

Muhfuckin' Andre 3000
Dracula's Wedding

I agree with Heche. Tasha, good job!

She's a great actress. Hope she's well. That said, what the fuck ever happened to the journalistic idea of reporting things that are SOLID? Maybe that's why newspapers have died off; they don't offer the proper amount of innuendo and drama necessary for the modern human to survive off of 24/7.

Not science fiction at all, but you could check out any of Tim Gautreaux's stories. I think he just had something else published in The New Yorker. He's got a lot of influences - Flannery O'Connor, Cormac McCarthy, Eudora Welty, but he sees a definite humor in crafting macabre Southern stories. It's a weird mix of

The House for the Blinds
That sketch is incrazible. It's all about timing, and their timing is impeccable. This sketch in the hands of anyone else would've been fucked, but Mr. Show made it one of my favorite oddball moments in all of comedy.

I feel ya!
After watching DO THE RIGHT THING for the first time about five months ago, I immediately wanted to throw my copy of CRASH in the garbage can (luckily, I had alreadysold it on Half.com and forgotten about it). I remembered enjoying THE 25th HOUR and INSIDE MAN, but besides that, I hadn't seen what Lee was

Or perhaps The Smashing Pumpkins … who is D'arcy?

imdb does not believe you. It says that Holoubeck was in Stella, Reno 911 and The Ten.
