Okay… I know that without fail someone will say this every week about any episode of every show, but I am I the only one who sincerely, honestly believes that this was the worst episode Futurama has ever put out? It seems like the entire story pitch was "what if… English accents? Funny, right?" I think B- is

I think Home Movies would be a really great choice. It's such a wonderful show and it has a lot of enduring appeal. Outstanding voice work, H. Jon Benjamin's breakout role, great guest spots from the likes of Mitch Hedberg and Louis C.K. … basically one of the great cartoons of the decade.

AV Club totally has audio of this and I want to hear it.

Heil Honey I'm Home is on Youtube and it's goddamn incredible.

Seconded! Really hoping for an unedited DVD release.

Louis CK over the hill? It was only recently that he came up with the idea to build a brand new act every year, and that was when his genius really started to shine. He's been doing standup since around '85, but his best work—Shameless, Chewed Up, Hilarious, Louie S1—is all from the past FIVE YEARS, which is fucking

Sladen was amazing. Especially back in the 70s, she was able to take the blandest, most one-size-fits-all dialogue and, seemingly through sheer willpower (and talent), imbue it with personality and verve. That's why Sarah Jane was so endearing—it wasn't that the character was particularly well-written, it was that

@ted THANK YOU. it's insane that more people don't know that. Billie Joe's other band put out a split with D4 so it's not like they can even plead ignorance. it's just blatant plagiarism.

okay, wow, I never thought I'd get into a political debate on AV club, but… here's just a small sample of the contributions Monsanto has made to our world: 1) Agent Orange 2) rBST 2.5) spent millions lobbying to make it ILLEGAL for rBST-free milk to be labeled as such 3) over the course of decades, nonchalantly dumped

huh, I didn't know that about '07. i'm sure it's an up-and-down relationship since Lou is involved. but at some point in the last couple years, a friend-of-a-friend of mine approached Gaffney at one of his solo shows to say how much he loved Sebadoh, and Gaffney reacted very badly, basically just chewed the poor guy

@danner from what I understand Gaffney pretty much hates Lou and Sebadoh; don't hold your breath. looking forward to their northampton show though!

if the mere thought of Mallory's death gives Archer a hard-on (sorry, "an ERECTION?!"), I hate to think what he was doing during Pam's beatdown

isn't what's described here exactly the kind of overlapping, multiple-versions-of-the-same-characters clusterfuck that ended up dooming that version? because nobody wanted to see some random dudes named DJ Cotrona and Armie Hammer playing Superman and Batman while the Singer/Nolan films were going on at the exact

first thing I thought of from reading that description was young Mac and Charlie throwing rocks at trains. I hope the show is basically that.

the guy has great timing and delivery, and I love him on podcasts, but pretty much every single joke on his record, the punchline is "i am a terrible sociopath." it's well done, but I'd really like to see him branch away from that character, because it does get old.

oh well
criticizing awards shows is just a step above criticizing commercials—it's not like there's any artistic merit to begin with—but since it seemed like there were so many comedians I respect involved in this thing, I guess I had some vague hope that it might make interesting choices and bring attention to some
