That sounds amazing, and I'm looking forward to it. Let's Plays are a weird thing, but after watching some of the more transcendent moments of Matt Lees' run through the first one, I became very wise to the potential charms of the form. And the emergence-friendly X-COM games seem perfect for it.

Oof, yeah. I watched my brother playing the PS4 version a bit over Christmas break, and at one point he hit a bottle neck where he basically couldn't progress because of a resource development mistake he'd made about fifteen hours back. The heartbreak was pretty real, even secondhand (though relative to yours, very

Are you playing Xenosaga on the PS2 or via emulation? I've always wanted to try it, but given that it never got a PAL release, my options are either fork over money for a modded console and a used US copy of the game, or emulation.

Wow, that's harsh. I hope you get those mod problems sorted; I would love to see a weekly Long War chronicle in these pages. Have you played (and finished) the regular game prior to this?

Well, I talked to someone whose cousin knew one of those dead guys, and apparently that documentary was total BS.

Ta for the rundown of those smaller titles; I could definitely stand to try more of that sort of stuff. Virginia sounds particularly tempting.

According to the in-game counter, I've put about 20 hours into Stardew Valley since last week's WAYPTW, and I'm just about up to the point where I fell off when I first played it last spring (the fall of the first in-game year). If I don't happen to spontaneously decide to get my act together on the exam prep I've

Allow me to apologise on behalf of the entire AV Club commenting community for the egregious paucity of upvotes on your top-quality joke.

So flipping dark though!

Sure, but the concept of the column isn't what's noteworthy, it's what has struck that particular staff member's fancy.

Thanks a bunch, I'll get right on this!

Any recommendations on where to start?

Yeah, god forbid a pop culture writer should be excited about the aesthetics of a trailer in and of itself, not merely as an advertising tool. It HAS to be there for some nefarious purpose.

I'm loving the new No Joy EP with a passion. It's my first taste of the band; anyone here know them well enough to point me in the direction of where to continue with them?

Looking at the indie support the Switch looks to be getting, any argument against its software lineup seems churlish at best. Since AAA isn't the be-all end-all of my interest in the medium, having the flexibility to play all* the indie games everywhere is starting to make the system seem indispensable in my eyes.
