That's really interesting. One of my favourite writers (Erich Maria Remarque) is one of those once hugely popular authors who nobody seems to be reading (or at least talking about) anymore, but on the other hand, there are plenty once-stars who deserve their fall out of critical and popular favour.

Yeah, I stopped watching a couple of episodes into the fifth season. Not in disgust that it had suddenly gotten bad or anything, more that I'd had my fill. It was a very enjoyable show when it was on, and in that late first season, second/third season period when it was at its best, I think it made me laugh out loud…
