Please do! Due to Easter hols (which are an actual thing in these parts), I might not be too prompt in responding around that time, but I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.

The Fosters finale!

Nice write-up. You'll probably have to relinquish your AV Club membership for not knowing who Reggie Watts is, though.

Easy fix; just relocate to somewhere in the Central European time zone, and prime time US TV will start magically appearing in the illegal appropriation medium of your choice between 3 and 5 in the morning.

You realise that by lobbying for a top pick that long in advance, you're giving him ample notice to scour the listings for something extremely obscure and unworthy to pick instead of Justified?

Not that he ever seemed like he was going to be a contender, but I was very relieved not to have to watch Nate for more than one game.
And I'm pouring one out for my fellow academic librarian, who will surely be in for vast amounts of taunting at work for getting that FJ wrong. Professional partisanship aside, I

Perhaps my least favourite critical stance: that every album has to be evaluated in relation to the "best" album in that artist's catalogue. A useful crutch, sure, but a crutch all the same, and a really defensive position from which to articulate an opinion/analysis.

What are your favourites so far this year?

Apropos Sufjan, did anyone here hear (and like) the Sisyphus album? I'm too old and out-of-touch to know how it stacked up against the more hyped albums of last year, but that said, I'm a bit baffled at how little attention it got. Not perfect, maybe a mess, but if so, a glorious, one-of-a-kind mess. I mean, the

I'm surprised Remedy got a second season, but it's nice to see it return. It's nothing spectacular, but I really like seeing a hospital drama widen its focus to include the more unglamorous professions, acknowledging the class issues inherent in such a workplace. Even though Enrico Colantoni is tragically miscast

I raved about Maia Mitchell on here a couple of weeks ago, and neglected to mention Hayden Byerly at all. That performance is a huge part of why the character works so well, but it doesn't call attention to itself in the way Mitchell's does. I can't recall ever seeing an actor this young doing something so understated.

Finally, a complaint about the WOT exclusion of a show I care about! Now I can join in and finally know how all those American Dad truthers feel! Hmm… mostly it's just kind of sad and lonely. Oh well.

That makes me so happy to hear (not about the remix version, that makes me cringe a bit), as I've been holding off rereading IM for fear of it wilting outside of that early twenties not-knowing-anything-about-anything bubble where I fell in love with it.

I think we've said a permanent farewell to the times where a film like Doomsday could be box office hits, sadly.

That's forty threads so far of AVClubbers trying to do their own funnies, and one expressing appreciation for the amazing work done in the article above. Guys, if we don't stop taking Sean for granted, he might leave.

It's a toss-up between this and Invisible Monsters for me, although the latter probably pips it.

I was reading through this thread and only recalling the episode vaguely, but the stomach-fluttering I had when watching that perfect bit of business for the first time came right back to me when I read your post. Sublime is right.

Hey, I guessed what the scene was before I clicked the link! Maybe not too strange, since I had the exact same reaction to it when I first watched it.

Well, that's what you get for being ressurected by the Lord of Light after dying a traumatic death, I guess.

Not that I have tons of experience in asking people out, but that seems like a master class right there.
