"Hosed" is the word I was looking for. My fiance was recently accepted into a good program at a good school. She is a non-traditional student and because she had been making money for the past 5 years she was offered little for grants, and taking out private loans would have left her with debt we would be paying into

I've heard a lot of people currently in, or recently out of law school make the same argument. And it does suck. If they are intentionally fudging their post-grad employment numbers there is fraud taking place. But I'm not sure that translates to "most of the debt."

I agree. And I'm not really taking Roseanne seriously as a candidate, but this idea isn't limited to her. Many people are calling for it including, most vocally, the occupy movement. And I haven't really heard a good justification for it beyond "I didn't think about how expensive this was before I agreed to those

Please explain.

Agreed. Specifically, forgiving student loans confuses me. I get that tuition is expensive but no one forced you to enroll in classes. Why should someone be rewarded for agreeing to a debt they had no hope of repaying, when someone else had to make the responsible decision to pass on something that was way beyond

Clearly that's what happened here.

It's nice to live in a culture where the words "solipsistic oversharing" have meaning.

@avclub-78ff5ad3e86e20985bc2792f0b440469:disqus sometimes the truth can be hypocritical. Ayn Rand and Jesus were both right and I don't see whats so wrong with excepting that. Jesus loved the free market and Ayn Rand loved what jesus stood for, irregardless of if she didn't want to bow down to the bull crap that the

Yes, Christian!! My local Tea Party and I all went together to celebrate the christian values of capitalism that OUR country was founded on.

Don't talk down to me with you're elitist "english" diploma from your LIBERAL arts college!! Some of us work for a living!!!

Atlas Shrugged Part 1 would have broken records if it could have been released into a truly free market, but the libtards in Hollywood were determined to see it fail because of its conservative christian message. It's commonsense that the returns on the first film were artificially deflated by Barry the m.o.o.s.l.i.m.

The song's pretty good.

You never fire crazy.

Is this the line for the new Lana Del Rey album?

World's Greatest Dad was a pretty tough sell, but I think he pulled it off. Looking forward to this.

I thought they put a black bar over their mouths when they were actually drinking it. But I may have just looked away.

I thought they had to censor one of the Jackass movies when the guys were drinking horse semen. What made NBC think this was going to be allowed on broadcast during prime time?

Chicago.

I disagree; you clearly have the easiest job on Earth, because it allows you to make shitty Internet comments all day instead of working.

I would not fault a band for relocating, that is correct. But this band is pretty clearly an example of upper-class kids trying to invest their parents money in the proper way to become "artists." They are still paying for voice lessons and factoring in "lost wages." Forgive me for not feeling sorry for someone not
