Finally, we can talk about some of this stuff.
Finally, we can talk about some of this stuff.
Ohhhh.
I quit watching Glee a while ago, but I do still pop in to read these reviews every once in a while.
Hey now! For the first time in several weeks, I'm not the first to comment!
"I guess he'll always… be a hero… to me." One of the corniest line readings in the history of the show, this bit of monologue echoes in my head at the mere mention of "My Hero," a mediocre cap to an otherwise great episode. That moment is a misstep in so many ways that I genuinely find it hard to believe that no one…
The Sanders Fan's Koan?
I love the Weakerthans, although I'll agree with Jason that the recent material has been somewhat weaker than their first couple of albums. After all, Left & Leaving might just be my all-time #1 favorite album by any band ever. I'm still looking forward to digging into the first John K. Samson solo record. I'll…
Interesting reading of it. I've only seen about four episodes of Frasier ever. I figured I'd move on and watch as much of that as I could bear, once I finish with Cheers. I heard that Frasier was nearly intolerable by the end, though. Then again, I'm watching season 10 of Cheers and kinda wondering why, so I'll…
It's worth bearing in mind that the moment wasscripted, which means that the real-life RZA knew what Jeffrey Tambour was going to say, and presumably was okay with it in that context, even if the "as himself" version of the RZA had to act like he was about to kill Hank for talking like that.
Oh man, that was basically the most awkward moment on scripted television, EVER.
Sure, sure. I didn't say Hank was wrong about that assumption. Maybe this episode tipped him towards the other direction on my scale because we finally see Larry working with a good sidekick, which finally made it apparent just how awful Hank really is.
This is the episode where I actually started hating Hank. Before that, I acknowledged that he was kind of pathetic, and probably didn't deserve the job he had. After this episode, I basically started rooting for Larry to fire him. His interactions with Jake were just too unbearable, and he chases away a charismatic,…

And since they were still playing up the "Dr. Cox Has a Massive Crush on Carla" storyline, it's rather appropriate.
Well, everyone except for Bob Kelso. That inconsistency bugs the crap out of me, but I elaborate more on that in my response to @Affrosponge88:disqus down below.
Yeah, just my opinions, too. I knew I was taking a dump on an episode that's mostly well-liked by other fans. Obviously I don't think any less of people who see it differently from how I do. However, I do relish in the discussions, so here's some fuel for the fire.
I get what you're saying, @avclub-fff4ac4c2f46e5cd75ec8b515c235031:disqus , and like I said, it could be plausibly argued that Elliott's reasons for dumping Sean are perfectly consistent with her character. I guess what bugs me (and is going to make me sound kinda Radical-Feminist for a second) is that her inability…
Because Jason Heller, author of the book in question, is an A.V. Club staff contributor. It's only "semi" self promotion insofar as he doesn't represent the A.V. Club when promoting his novel.
You still left an extra letter in one instance of the name.
Hey, @avclub-ce7da3812ed2a993e2194cd75e94b18b:disqus , as much as I've loved these Scrubs reviews, and as glad as I am that you're doing them, I've noticed that they're haven't exactly been the most active threads on the site. Are you planning on continuing the series beyond Season 1?
