I thought this was a fine episode. Not a series-best like some of the community seems to think, but a really nice half hour. Rick Gomez earns MVP status again, continuing to build layer upon layer to Endless Mike. Growing up, I always thought he was kind of a vanilla bad-guy, but on a rewatch as an adult, the work

Nice review of the review, @avclub-924164c1d98466f693f4455f4ce27bd5:disqus , especially point b).

Most of the negative things that @avclub-01f78be6f7cad02658508fe4616098a9:disqus had to say about this movie were extensions of what I felt to be defining traits of the book. For instance, I would have been fairly put-off by a performance of Watanabe in which he wasn't "blank, withdrawn… [and] numbed."

…Even if it means taking a chubby?

NORM!

Creative use of punctuation, Sean.

I thought they already tried that, though. Wasn't that the idea behind The Muppets Tonight?

Erik, I really appreciate your efforts to put these episodes into historical context. These are fine reviews, and I seldom have anything to add to them. I just wanted to say Thank You.

Yeah. I think that, in the end, she's not inconsistent as a character - just difficult to sympathize with.

Ah, yeah, but the issue in "My Urologist" wasn't just that Kim didn't want people to hate her - it was that she lied incessantly to protect her image.

Yeah, but then they did that fantasy sequence with the animal in question talking to J.D., saying something to the effect of "You know I'm a unicorn, J.D. Don't deny it!"

I think it may have started here, but it didn't really come to a head until the fourth season episode "My Unicorn." J.D., in spite of his effete mannerisms and aversion to professional sports, never struck me as the kind of guy who'd go for unicorns before that point. It seemed like there was no turning back from that

(Sorry for the double-post… I figured it would be better to make two longish comments than one monstrous one.)

That makes me shudder every time. Oh, I love how he nailed that monologue.

Another great pair of reviews, Myles. Keep 'em up! Here's my two cents:

Holy crap, this is still going on. I love you guys.

It's on Hulu, but with an eight-day delay.

Chuck doing another Christmas episode worries me, since they're already got one of the best Christmas-themed episodes of last decade. It can only go downhill now…

The guy who recommended Dream Theater to me had a bunch of proggy recommendations in the same list, but DT was by far the best of them. You might try following up with Marillion.
