Abe as Mike Stivick
Were all the liberal counter culture dudes really male chauvinists? Seems like a cliche.

Where's Kinsey?
I know he's not coming back, but this current crew of creatives make that pot smoking Orson Welles look a like look like David Ogilvy.
Having everything
Betty's line about having everything sounded like an echo of Peggy's observation to Don last season when she asked for a raise- 'you have everything, and so much of it.'
Opening/Closing Doors
Where's the commenter who last week made reference to all or most episodes this year ending with a door opening or closing? S/he's definitely on to something. Peggy even asks Don if he wants the door open or closed at the end.
Even though it wasn't a 'bottle' episode and I hadn't consciously thought of the mouse, I was thinking about BB's 'the Fly' as well.
Touche, but "Larger Than Life" was back in the 90's and "Garfield" was… you may have a point there.
C.R.E.A.M.
I guess cash really does rule Rae. Either that or he did it for his kids.
No way
is Bill Murray gonna be any part of this. Therefore it ain't happening.
The original holds up.
Peggy
She sure showed dough-boy who was boss. I like that *tiny* dig at his manhood back at the office.
What's the big deal if he DOES slip into Dick Whitman mode every now and again? It's not like he has a family to hide it from anymore. As long as he's Don at the office, no harm no foul.
Yeah- when he leaned back and put his arms behind his head, he was channeling Barney Fife.
It appears Duck fell off the wagon when she kicked his ass to the curb.
Late 50's
I gotta give it up for MM's design dept. With what feels like a few subtle details, they turn back the clock and make the characters and surroundings look 5 years younger- always convincing but never over done.
Drunk n giddy and bright n naive were pretty similar. They both had the wide eyed smile of Don/Dick when Anna discovered him selling cars back in the day.
I've read em all and my 2 favorite bios are Electric Gypsy and the more recent Room Full of Mirrors. Depends on what your looking for. Room Full has a more extensive family background and Seattle childhood.
How much is 'untold'?
I guess it doesn't matter. The story sounds familiar, but I'll probably pick it up anyway. I'm a sucker for Hendrix bios. My favorite is still Charles Murray's Crosstown Traffic. It's more of a look at his musical legacy than a biography.
Masturbation!?!
Wasn't that more a scene of self discovery? Don't you all remember that magic moment when you just happened to touch yourself and you didn't no why, but it felt good?
We're more familiar with what went on in the mid to late 60's because its been rammed down our collective consciousness. Pre 1963 was more interesting because it hasn't been portrayed as often or as well. It'll be challenging to keep it fresh from here on out.
Yeah it's 1965
and the 60's are beginning to look more like "the 60's", but I'm pretty sure the writers will keep Mad Men from devolving into some cliche period piece.
