Claire is immediately drawn to Sarah, but by the time she goes to Sarah's house and experiences that life, she's smart enough to realize how empty it is. It reminds me of when Claire leaves the art world and then reunites with all of her art friends and realizes how much she doesn't want to be part of that world

Equating "vividness with realness." Drama with meaning. I haven't heard a better summary of adolescence than that phrase. Love your write-ups, Teti!

I know multiple white men who sympathized with that sketch a little bit too much. "Shit, is it that obvious we're counting to the beat in our heads?!"

Oh, Larry David. Telling Ed Asner that he thought he was dead. Stay classy.

I agree with many others, this format is great. I also hope you will still do a retrospective general analysis of the sketches that were done multiple times (e.g., Great Moments in Hook Up History), where you talk about them as a whole. Your write-ups are great!

Isn't he big into World of Warcraft? I'm pretty sure I had some college friends that always hoped to encounter him during WoW sessions (or at least pretend that anyone could be him…)

I just want to reiterate what a lot of people are saying: I'm so fucking happy this show is being covered this summer! I discovered it years ago when I was studying abroad in London and could NOT believe this was on television. I randomly saw it one day and got hooked. I'm so happy there are others who love it here,

The notion that David is the emotional rock to those around him makes his kidnapping/carjacking/torture in Season 4 that much more heartbreaking. He's so used to be the rock to others that he doesn't know how to lean on someone else.

I was an angsty teen who thought a show about a funeral home sounded interesting, so I made sure to watch it when the pilot premiered on HBO. I watched it with my mom. I thought the pilot was one of the best things I had ever seen in my life. I continued to watch the first season but then only watched it off and on

That James Van Der Beek story made me love Tony Hale even more. Particularly since I imagine him speaking in his Buster voice.

Excellent summaries, as always. And yes, "Long Distance Call" is supremely fucked up. While I grew up watching The Twilight Zone, I didn't see this episode until college… I feel like If I had seen this as a kid, it would have been even more disturbing. The first major death in my life happened when I was 9 (my

As someone starting her career in clinical psychology, I struggle with the notion of suicide. I believe that people have a right to decide when they live and when they die, and I know that there is a lot of suffering in this world outside of physical pain and that it can be a rational choice to just not want to live
