When I think about "weird movie backstories" and "Hitchcock," I never get over the image of that actress from The Birds, who was dating Hitch at the time (I think?) and supposedly spent days being pelted by birds until she was practically traumatized by the whole thing…

Oh man, me too. The cartoon fox version of Robin Hood might be the hottest Robin Hood. Cary Elwes does it for me, too.

It's not just about the reward you get from being a good person. Yes, he's rewarded in the end and he deserves the reward, but what the movie really shows is that being a good person is extremely difficult. It takes sacrifice, hard work, and oftentimes you are incredibly unhappy and disappointed because you give up

Yeah, right?! Reading these entries I remember thinking, "Oh man, we had one special that I used to watch over and over on VHS. It was in claymation. I think it had dinosaurs and songs. I'll never remember what it was called, it was probably lost when my parents moved out of our childhood home." And AV Club FUCKING

Ditto. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes and one of the most memorable from my childhood. Do they still put inspector numbers in clothes like underwear? I remember seeing them when I was younger, but maybe that's because I was at the age where I bought underwear in packs… oh, the good old days…

Agreed. I was also going to comment on that but you beat me to it!

I want to second these sentiments. I read these reviews every week with relish. I grew up watching The Twilight Zone with my dad (who introduced me to the series) and bought up all the DVDs when they were released (before all the seasons were released in a nice box set, unfortunately). When I was in college my

Agreed about the film being sort of a mess and not as engaging as it should be. I also do not buy Tasha's argument that Cera is playing a satire of his previous characters. I just didn't care about these characters, I didn't care about Scott and Ramona getting together at the end, which I think is why the film wasn't

"Okay music, I get it, there's whimsy, chill the fuck out."

Has no one mentioned any scene from Stephen King's IT? That shit scared me as a kid and there are still scenes that are some of the creepiest things I've ever seen. Most notably this scene, with the bathroom sink and the blood and the girl's dad not seeing any of it: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

What about good art that is uplifting?
People look at my movie collection and always comment that all of my movies seem "depressing" and "dark." I find myself more drawn to "darker" films and TV shows (Breaking Bad is probably my favorite show at this point) because often I find that they are just more honest and of

@Communist Porn Star: Yes, that fishing episode TERRIFIED me when I was younger. Re-watching it when you're an adult makes it a little less scary, but shit, it's a pretty fucking creepy episode.

"I thought you had class?" "I thought YOU had class!"
Seriously, talking about how the context/delivery matters… best Tony Hale delivery!

B-52s shout out
You know it's a badass show when the B-52s sing the theme song!

@Goosio: The fortune cookie episode is definitely up there in terms of my favorites from the whole series. That and, of course, Wacky Deli.

Laundry day… is a very dangerous day.

Rocko story as a kid
So, Rocko was my favorite cartoon on Nickelodeon as a kid. Watching it as an adult gives me so much joy because it is entertaining in an entirely different light.

Heifer's brother also wears a tutu at one point and a big deal of it is made at the Wolf family table.

Cursed by his own hubris.

Oh shit, I KNEW I recognized him!
