Tommyboy threat
Oh man, I loved this movie when I was a kid. I always thought that particular moment was badass.

Thank you
I know others have/will continue to disagree with this review, but I am heartened to see that someone else was not emotionally moved by this film. It felt almost formulaic in how it laid out the lives of the monks and while at first I liked the small moments between the monks and the community, nothing ever

If I had to choose one character to come back, it would be Sal, despite the fact that Paul Kinsey and I share a strong love for the Twilight Zone. Both of them are missed greatly.

I love that Larry David and Jeff Garlin crack each other up on Curb. Their dynamic is easily one of the best parts of the show.

I second this request!

gender commentary
Yeah, I also strained to find anything particularly interesting presented in this episode as for gender commentary, although I appreciate the idea of Catwoman and Batman being equals of sorts.

Thank you for your response! And I agree with a lot of the points you made. I look forward to future discussion as more female characters are introduced.

Catwoman vs. Poison Ivy
So I have been watching this series ahead of the write-up schedule… I have only seen this episode with Poison Ivy and I just watched the Catwoman two-parter introduction, to give some context.

@otto man: You make an excellent point with the voice actor vs. screen actor distinction.

I agree with the statement that this film "is taking additional heat as an emblem for many movies and TV shows that preceded it," seeing as how homophobia and the use of the word "gay" as a pejorative is nothing new or unique. And there are probably thousands of movies that offer more offensive stereotypes or

Awesome to see so much PC love. Although, in "Why Can't He be You," whenever she sings, "He does all the things that you would never do," I immediately always think of sexual matters. Possibly anal-related.

I love her.
Particularly "Walkin' After Midnight," "She's got you," and "Why Can't He Be You"

The Blind Side comparisons
When I saw that promotion this weekend on TV I didn't know whether to laugh or vomit. Comparing a black athlete to a horse is the definition of classy.

Ack!
They are playing at Paradise for only $20 (!!!) but I will be out of town at a conference on that day. Fuck having a job.

Yeah, c'mon Sims! To this day my friends and I still try to say "You are soooo good looking" when someone sneezes…

Agreed.
I never really mind Dano in films, but he's terrible in this. As is Katie Holmes, who looks like a reanimated corpse. The only redeeming part of this movie is Kevin Kline. It's funny, but forgetful.

I just have to comment so I can save this thread. Priceless.

This episode does it for me purely based on the exchanges between George and Elaine regarding Jerry and the whole concept of not being able to talk to someone because you only hang out with them through another person.
