I thought loving Dahl when I was a kid gave me the wider imagination needed to really enjoy Harry Potter as an adult. (and my gramma loves HP so i jumped in too)

I think i missed out on Salinger entirely. I read Catcher in the Rye and Nine Stories pretty recently. While I understand the connection people feel with it, I just thought it was boring. Amazing for a book with a hooker in it. Maybe if it had robots or explosions too…
