I like it, but it's such a stereotypical Stephen King story I feel like I've read it already and thus feel no sense of urgency to get back to it. (Also I almost exclusively do my reading on my commute, which has gotten much shorter lately since I'm walking a lot more due to my weight-loss endeavors.)

Congratulations, man. Great job.

Friday: Finished part two of Needful Things, which is taking me for-f***ing-ever. I like it, but it's such by-the-numbers Stephen King (who I love), that it almost feels like an unfunny parody, or Stephen King fanfiction. I probably would have given up on it if not for the fact that I (coincidentally) started reading

You may be right on the body count, it's been a long time since I've seen any of them. I'm not saying "Returns" is necessarily bad or people shouldn't like it if they do. I honestly feel like I can't even speak rationally about it because it makes me so mad. It's a movie I just genuinely, viscerally, completely hate.

I will accept nothing less.

DR DASTARDLY OR GTFO

… I swear I can't tell if this is a joke. If it is, it's a great one. Seriously.

(I'm cutting and pasting from an earlier explanation, but also adding to it!)

"The overlords that are…."

@avclub-130f14e3e5c0263f013b56d8c212f26a:disqus , for me it goes Batman, Batman & Robin, Batman Forever, fifty feet of crap, then Batman Returns

"My own small protest will be to no longer support either the character (watching the tv shows, playing the video games, etc…etc…)"

I daresay he might even embiggen the role.

Thank god somebody got it.

I think it's more the default reaction that most comic book fans on the Internet have to say that everything sucks, especially two years before it actually comes out.

Yeah, but let's face it… it's totally his fault.

I don't think those things take all that much introducing. The Nova Corps are space cops. The Kree are blue humanoid aliens who worship/are ruled by a big head in a vat ("Like the guy in Power Rangers?" "Exactly." "Okay, got it."). The Guardians, Nebula and The Collector are characters in the movie so explaining them

I'm actually almost positive that's exactly what the setup of the movie is going to be- Superman trying to be a better hero, Batman deciding to take down Superman anyway, they fight, then have to team up to take down… I dunno, let's say Metallo?

Thank you, sir, for finally proving my long-held theory that no matter the actual subject, some comic book fan, somewhere, somehow, will find a way to make it about Jack Kirby.
